A Child Summer I would Like to Stay
A Poem about that Childhood Magic
my mother’s tulips by the house shown bright
as laughter from the pool rang high all day
and all the sleepy birds had taken flight
a child summer I would like to stay
when trees were castles in the sky up high
and dandelions flew like fairies new
when dreams where seas that wouldn’t ever dry
with life unfolding magic stories true
remember nights of warmth so sweetly free
we ran through yards in light of star and moon
back then the glow shone under all to see
and mystic kingdoms sang to us a tune
a song of life made from those summers’ dreams
that song where life’s much brighter than it seems
