I stand waiting for hope at the edge of December
Still waiting on wishes that I made in July
Do I still believe it ? I guess, September remembers
Faithfully I remain, though I can’t tell you why
Love took a stroll, now it avoids February
Heart in my hand from that warm afternoon
Fate intervened, never wanting to marry
Cigarette run and then, vanished in June
April brought rain with a promise of flowers
I planted the seeds and waited for May
The season flew by, it seemed, in mere hours
I found myself holding a dying bouquet
Along came October throwing fate in the wind
And what luck remained from that moment in March
What I would give to revisit August
But alone here I stand fully covered in frost
January finds me with new resolution
Remembering the thankfulness that November shared
Bringing clarity and peace with a brand new solution
And twelve more months to get me prepared
