my son

You have a long way to go

Sometimes painful, the journey's flow

Sometimes bitter, life's ebb and flow

The sharpness of the gravel is always aglow

You pass with shoeless feet, so tender

Sit here close to dad, his love to render

Don't bother your mother,be a sweet sender

Get off his lap quickly, life's a fast healer

You will be your own man, strong and true

In this vast world, with skies so blue

Keep walking boy, you'll make it through.

With every step, your dreams will come true
