A Billion Years Without You
If there is even the slightest promise of seeing you again, no distance in the world can keep me away.

If there is even a chance of seeing you once more,
I will cross every weary road without counting the miles.
No furious river will be strong enough to stop me, no mountain wall high enough to turn me back.
Across burning deserts, through cities shattered by storms, beneath oceans of darkness, I will keep searching for the shadow of your name.
If I know you are waiting,
I will climb over a thousand fences, leave behind a thousand fears, and walk through every judgment to stand at your door.
From one edge of the earth to the other, through seasons that forget themselves, through nights that refuse to end—
nothing will be enough to keep me from you.
Just tell me once:
"We will meet again."
Just tell me once:
"You still remember me."
And I will tear down the long walls of time, clear away the silence that has gathered for years,
and begin walking again—
toward you.
Because I saw you once,
on a forgotten afternoon, on a Thursday that somehow vanished from history.
Since then,
it feels as though a billion years have passed
without seeing you.
