A Bad Dream

In the dark of night, I close my eyes,

And a bad dream, from slumber does arise.

A world of fear, a place so real,

Where monsters lurk, and my heart does feel.

It's a place of shadows, where nothing is bright,

And I'm running, running with all my might.

Chased by terrors, I cannot escape,

My heart races, I'm filled with such fear and such hate.

In this world of nightmares, I feel so alone,

Lost in the darkness, with no way to atone.

For the fear that grips me, and the horrors I see,

A bad dream that haunts me, from slumber set free.

But then I wake, with a start and a sigh,

And I realize, it was just a dream, just a lie.

I calm my heart, and I take a deep breath,

And I'm grateful, for the comfort of reality, and its rest.
