I can’t shake you from my mind—
haunted by memories, missing you still.
I love you, but it’s not our time;
there are pieces we both must gather,
paths we each must walk alone,
to build the life we’re meant to share.
My heart is yours, though my mind is fogged,
lost in shadows and aching for light.
Tears rise but numbness holds,
a gift life keeps forcing on me.
Today, I want to slip away,
to be where you are, to feel whole,
but the road ahead is blurred,
and life won’t let me go.
