I wish to soar

away into the night

out of mind, out of sight

faster through the clouds

far from the pesky, nosy crowds

flying more, into the next day

above the skies that are gray

past the microwaving sun

oh, what delightful fun

sliding down rainbows

striking a funny-silly pose

picturesque or bizarre memory

the wonder of a century

free as a lark who loves life

fun-loving, no care, or sign of strife

was this what Peter Pan felt like

adulthood going on strike

no wonder he fought it so

for older he never wanted to grow
