s.p.

i could spend lifetimes searching for some clarity

beneath the wings of a perched bird

signaling messages before taking flight

within the illumination of the crescent moon

surrounded by the wind

leading fallen leaves into circulation

rustling around my scarred ankles

guiding me somewhere more grounded

summoning me home

with the ants that crawl upon wildflowers

above mud cracks which carefully hold patient seeds

and past lives

all encased by the scent of creosote

i guess i've learned the unknown is where i belong

where i could spend lifetimes searching for some clarity

knowing that is the only way i know how to find me
