She sat to number one, forgetting to flush it away.

I noticed it when I sat to number one, happier

That even our number ones will be ensemble all the way;

Together through the pipes and any other fancier

Or not passage. I, a man, also sit to number one,

As it is more comfortable and tidier, clearly.

In case you are looking for one, there is no preplanned pun;

Our love has been growing since 1984, yearly.

Unlike plants, which we love dearly, that grow with the Sun's light,

Our love continued to develop after we parted

A year later, nourished by our unconsciouses' hindsight,

As it was not the time for our love to take flight, hearted.

Close to four decades later, we are together again;

Older and wiser, with all our love in complete free reign.

    Dear Patrick, Your portrayal of everyday moments, like the choice of sitting, beautifully symbolizes the intimacy and comfort that come with shared experiences over time. Your ability to blend humor with tender reflections on love's endurance is truly touching. Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt piece. Best regards, Dr. Jay
