Recently, my family took a day trip to somewhere that we had never been before and somewhere that would interest and hopefully wear-out my five-year-old daughter, who doesn’t seem to appreciate that nearly everyone in her family is her senior, by twenty-four years or more and therefore lacking her enthusiasm and ability to climb steep surfaces in some cases.

Shooting In The Dark
I have been a live music photographer for a very long time and I have seen the music industry has been one of the hardest hit over the last year. There is so much uncertainty. There are days where you think you have work, and then at the last moment. The rug is ripped from underneath you. This means not only do all the bar/venue staff lose work, the photographers, the band, the security, lighting and sound guys. Everyone is impacted negatively for this.

Seize Life.. Top Story - June 2021.
I have to be honest. I’m no professional. I love photographs and have lots of friends that have pursued photography on a much more professional level. However, I do love experiencing life and a huge part of experiencing it is the art of capturing it. The Latin word captura from the root cap- means ‘seized or taken’, and that is exactly what a photograph does; it takes a moment in time and allows you to take that “time” with you. We’ve all heard the expression “Carpe Diem” translated “Seize the day” and this aphorism captures the very essence of photographers everywhere. Whether professional, mere amateurs or a hobbyist, we live to seize the day by taking captive every fraction of a second we can; taking time as a prisoner of our affairs. This is how I seize my days. This is how I have captured my best moments with WILDlife.

On November 20th 2019, It was the best trip of my life. Actually It was the only trip in my life as an adult at the time, with the people that I love the most. My friends, family and the love of my life made it all possible. I honestly don't know what I would do without them. They knew what would make me so happy.

The Bull and the Boy
The small canoe boats floating along the Ganges, the famous and sacred steps of the city of the dead’s riverside packed with pilgrims, tourists, book-readers and locals, a young small shoe-less boy peering over at his family, and what I can only describe as a gargantuan bull, all in one frame. This picture, and the voyage I had to take that led to me this moment, this fleeting moment, is one that needs a deep rewind.

Not Your Typical Florida Man Story
Rarely is a wildlife photographer fortunate enough to know their subject’s story. We might know the facts of our subject, the natural history, and if we are lucky, we might even know the individual as one we have photographed before, but still there are always facets left unknown. Unfortunately, this story is an exhausting one with an overused plot and climax replayed across nature and if there is any comfort, it would be in the theme. I like to think the theme has something to do with passion and endurance and that so long as animals exist there will be those willing to help them.
