The Adventures Of My Dog & Cats!!

They're boring.

I can only imagine what the simple life is like being cute and so precious to my owner. Not having to worry about financial problems and just living off the food and living off the love that I receive? This isn't meant to foreshadow anything morbid, or anything depressing in the matter. I love my cats and I love my dog. Do I know what they do when I'm not around? Of course not. I don't have any cameras in my home. But maybe I could set up a couple for the living room and the bedroom if I win this contest?

That would be amazing!

What I picture my dog would do in the scenario is that he would wait at the door for me to get home. Either that or lay on the couch. However, I'd like to imagine that he would sit like a normal human and flip through all of the channels until he finds the local news. Or maybe he isn't into what is happening in the outside world?

This would have to be a serious one-on-one conversation with him, but I don't speak dog. My cats on the other hand?

I have already come home to them tearing up any mail that I accidentally leave on the kitchen counter. You would think that I would learn my lesson, but I'm a busy man! I can only cook and clean so much when I'm away from work that having any downtime is sleep or television... And sleep.

I want to be able to picture my dog being a hero of his dog nation. Like a toddler pretending to be inside of an imaginary world. He occasionally sees the other neighborhood dogs, and although they're just dogs that sniff each other and play around like any typical dog behavior, I see him interacting with his fellow dog mates. Dogs do have imaginations, right? I wouldn't want to let him scorn around the neighborhood on his own. I'm afraid that he'll get lost and forget his way back!

As what I can predict my cats doing? I don't entirely know.

House felines are more of the passive-aggressive type. With a keen sense of adventure and the vigilance to make something that is of theirs. In their own mind. I love my feline companions just as much as my dog. But I do not trust them to venture off into nature. I have already had one cat escape from the comfort of my own home and never return...

With the courage and great admiration to explore, the only thing that could potentially set me off is that my cats are pirates! Sailing the seven seas, being that the seven seas are the bedroom, living room, kitchen, and the other four rooms of my house, and are avast at sea, with all the rum and gold that they could possibly obtain!

I should inform you that I also do not drink, so they would never get a hold of any rum. But for story purposes? This is the best that I'm able to do.

I'm taking a generous liking to this contest format. I have been quite stressed out with everything happening in today's world, that I am very proud to a part in a writing contest such as this! Too much of the politics and drama can set you back a few years on your life. I would know, because I'm constantly having to deal with the anxiety and stress when I discuss with my online peers how great everything was before the pandemic happened (My friends and I don't see eye to eye on A LOT of topics, but we're still friends).

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed the content!
