What's Stopping You?

A single decision, a single word, thought, and action can completely re-track your life on the path to success. As easy as 1-2-3. When you're focused & understanding of what stress and failure will come when you embrace this challenge of being the "next big thing."

What makes you stop trying? Is it the fear of losing? Is it the fear of looking stupid? Or is it the fear of not impressing those that really don't care for you? You get one life and that isn't going to come back! If you're in your teens then you're already out of 15%-ish of your life. Why are you hesitating before it's too late? You're young enough to lose sleep, and you're young enough to work your ass off with all of your energy. Why aren't you building something that will make you HAPPY? If you're going to college but you hate school, then what's it really for? You'll be in debt, you'll struggle to learn, and it's all for a piece of paper that claims you know what you're doing.

I can't count the amount of times I work with "ASE certified" mechanics, shops, and businesses that repair cars daily. The amount of times I know more than them when it comes to parts or what they need or what they think they need is astronomical. My daily customers who work on cars as a hobby have more knowledge than quite a bit of people who have a certification that CLAIM they have the noggin' full of knowledge.

Take your shot before life gets TOO busy. No one can control and fix your life quite like you can. If you're 20 like me, you probably work eight to ten hours a day, six days a week, and then you might have classes right after or before. You have eight hours of sleep and eight hours of work, leaving eight hours for other activities such as class or career building. What do you love to do? Painting, writing, business building, helping people work out, or working on cars? Anything can be built through your phone and/or laptop nowadays.

Stop being afraid of succeeding! The only loser is the one who doesn't try. The only loser is the one too afraid to fail that they don't think they're worth the chance to try. You aren't a failure, and you aren't stuck. You're just inexperienced and it's how everyone is born. Live a life YOU make.

Build a dream you want. Otherwise, you'll be working for someone else, helping THEM build their own dream! Creating your dream is hard, but regretting when you're old and unable to do anything is even harder. You may not do things you always want to do, but the outcome is far more worth it than you would ever think. I still struggle daily with being able to discipline myself to doing the correct amount of studying to at least learn one NEW thing a day about my career and craft.

If you've ever felt stuck, reach out to someone. One of the worst things you can do when trying to build your own career and lifestyle is doing it alone with no help or like-minded friends around you. Why do you think businesses are built on the backs of thousands of employees rather than just one person? Having people around you that you network with every day and have the same goals like you is exactly what you need to keep motivated and confident, as well as inspired and prepared. Learn something new every single day about what makes you happy, and how you can make money out of it. It can be as simple as an intern job for a company who's already building similar ideas as to yours, or it can be "out of this world" ideas such as trying to make a one-of-a-kind ice cream shop where you can study like at a coffee shop, or play arcade games like Chuck-e-Cheese. The world is in your hands with something as simple as a smart phone and/or a laptop.
