Success isn’t made overnight, and neither is our health. Taking some time for yourself and making small changes to your everyday life can be beneficial to gaining control of your health and happiness.

“Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.” — Aristotle

Here are some simple tips to get you on track!

1. Drink more water! Water is so beneficial to our bodies, and is required for our organs to function their best. So simple, right?! Buy a pretty new water bottle if that is all it’ll take!

2. Cultivate a positive mindset. That’s the difference between having a good or, a bad day. Difference is; you move on and deal with what life throws at you OR, dwell on it and let it rain on your parade..your choice!

3. Eat MORE whole foods! Try a new recipe, try a new fruit or vegetable you’ve never tried before. Keep things interesting and keep to whole foods rather than processed… you’ll notice the difference in how you feel soon enough! Obviously, if you want that bit of cake have it too – just all in moderation! There is nothing worse than being so restrictive on your diet you feel sad about it!

4. Step out in the sun. Go outside, take your shoes off and get in that sunlight! Feel the ground beneath you, and see all of the different colours in the world around you. Close your eyes and listen to the sounds of nature. Filter out the traffic and listen for the natural beauty.

5. Practice self love! A new skin care routine, getting your nails done.. whatever it is, do it! Go easy on yourself, we’re all on this earth to experience it and to GROW! Take a defeat as an experience; learn from it, move on and recognise what you can do to to change it in future. Go back to Point 2 if you need to! Love yourself as you’d love those around you – you deserve it!

6. Sleep. 7+ hours a night should do it! If you feel the need to have a nap, have a quick cat nap! Set your alarm so you don’t nap too long that it’ll be hard to fall asleep at night though! Struggle to fall asleep? Invest in some oils and a diffuser, start a nighttime routine, read a book in bed rather than being on your phone – anything to create that zen space.

7. Change up what you listen to. Listen to a podcast, or an audible book. Listen to more calming music in the afternoon / night and, create a new playlist of upbeat ‘fun’ songs to listen to on the way to work. Set yourself up for an amazing day through your music!

8. Plan your day before it starts. Write a list of what you need to do, and your goals for the day the night before. If your goal is to drink more water, write it down! This is your list; your goals. Write as much or as little as you want, but don’t be too hard on yourself if you don’t accomplish everything on there – tomorrow is a new day!

9. Let go of things you can’t control. You can’t control the stormy weather, but you can control how you react and adapt to it. It’s all about those positive vibes – go up to Point 2! Take a breather if you need to, and then adapt to your situation. Rainy weather on a weekend? Have a movie marathon, or utilise that time to write your goals and create a vision board.

Practice kindness towards yourself. Realise your worth, and acknowledge those things your body is telling you. If you are feeling drained – take a break! Take a break off of your phone, get back to basics and fuel your body with the best products! You will find what works best for you, and once you do you will find your life may feel a lot more balanced!

Be kind to yourself! And listen to your needs, you have permission to do whatever you want to cater to them! Honour that one!
