Synopsis to the book THE MONEY CODE – Selling your way out of poverty

Wherever there is money people are selling something

This book is written on the premise that the correlation between selling and money is direct and the buyer will always make the seller rich, but more interesting is the fact that wealth and riches are not limited to any particular race, gender, religion, or education. There are rich Christians, rich Jews, rich Muslims, rich Hindus, rich Confucians and rich Atheists. There are also rich Americans, rich Europeans, rich Asians, rich Arabians and rich Africans. We also have rich men and rich women. Have you also noticed that riches are not limited to any specific calling, career, profession or trade?

However, I noticed that one thing stands out as the common denominator for wealth and riches; that one thing is SELLING. Therefore, in this book I have attempted to substantiate the truth that wherever there is money people are selling something.

All rich people are SELLLING something through which they have become rich. Whether they are professionals in Medicine, Law, Engineering, Education, Sports, Music, Religion, or Business tycoons and investors, they are all in this one business of selling something. Knowingly or unknowingly, these people, through their products and services have sold their way out of penury.

Throughout the ages selling has been the only way out of poverty. In this book I shall be substantiating the fact that everywhere people have survived poverty they sold their way out of it.

I my introduction I depicted that God did not create lack or insufficiency of anything. Everything God created; he created in abundance. Think about this:

- The waters in the sea

- The sand on the sea shore

- The fish in the ocean

- The people on the face of the earth

- The stones, gravel, vegetation

All these are in great abundance, authenticating that all God had in His mind for creating man, was abundance of everything.

Chapter One paints a picture of the abundance of everything in creation, to wit that no one was designed to live and die in poverty but strongly posits that our individual access to wealth and riches is predicated on personal desire and desperation, which must be powered by our inner consciousness of abundance that must be embraced wholeheartedly regardless of our prevailing circumstances. I close the chapter with vivid pictures of abundance in all of us and a motivation to fight for what each of us believes to be ours.

In Chapter Two, I declare an all-out war on poverty at individual level with the need to resist poverty in all its ramifications by fighting for the right to flourish and prosper in life. This fight is more of a mental battle than a physical one, which successful individuals fight and win through the power of knowledge, personal determination, courage, personal choices and personal responsibility. If you will not mentally agree that you were born to prosper, you will never see financial prosperity. Until you are mentally convinced that poverty is not your lot, you will never fight vehemently against poverty. Standing your grounds mentally for what you want is the most powerful position to take in life. Mental ground is stronger than physical grounds in the battles of life.

Chapter Three comes with my assertion that it is the ingenious use of the human mind for productive activities that lead to financial freedom. I attempt to substantiate the truth that money, whether small or plenty is only in the hands of people who used their minds to create goods and services to meet human needs, and in the process, amassed financial fortune beyond their widest imaginations.

Examples of how pacesetters use their minds to process their ideas, gifts, and talents to create solutions to the pressing human needs of their times, resonates with today’s realities which is quite refreshing, inspiring and empowering. Here we see amazingly that the richest men ever to live under the sun were men who used their minds to create wealth on the earth and nothing stopped them. I have also looked at the fact that it was ideas, gifts and talents that these men processed with their minds and sold to the world to free themselves from poverty and in some cases, created vast financial fortunes and pioneered what is known in history as the industrial revolution. This is still powerful today as it was in their days.

Chapter Four focuses on selling your way out. I reveal here that wherever you see money people are selling something, an assertion that resonates aptly with individuals, families and communities living above poverty regardless of their geographical location, race, religion or education. This chapter presents the Selling exploits and financial freedom of these great captains of industry as the justification for my central theme in this book; reiterating that money is tied to nothing else but selling. Everyone with money got it in exchange for services rendered or goods sold.

This brings us to my definition of Selling. For the purpose of this book I have defined SELLING as the exchange of goods and services for a reward in kind or cash. Selling in this context refers to offering your services to people who are willing to pay you for the services. By your services I mean your time, talent, energy, education and skills. Selling will also mean giving people goods and services at a price that they can afford to pay and, in the condition they will like to buy it. Goods and services in economics are the outcome of human efforts to meet the wants and needs of people. I further suggest that money is in all of us. The chapter closes with some beautiful discussions on the Three Levels of Selling (Selling for Survival, Selling for Prosperity and Selling for Posterity) which add up to make this chapter the selling point of this work.

Chapter Five poses a salient question – what will you sell? Learning from the history of economic prosperity, the Chinese economic miracle, the US economic downturn of the early 21st century, I discussed the need to be deliberate in either creating your own products and services or simply marketing another person’s products or service as the thin line between poverty and economic prosperity.

I assure my readers that the world will wait for anyone who has a product or service to meet human needs. If the world waited for Henry Ford, J P Morgan, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Larry Page, Mark Zuckerberg etc., it will wait for anyone. Universal basics like commitment to selling, faith in your products/services, patience and dedication in the face of challenges and obstacles are presented in a way that reflects real-life realities.

Awakening the entrepreneur within is what chapter six opens with, discussing the entire process of receiving ideas, processing ideas, packaging ideas and giving human beings viable reasons to buy and keep buying the products or services created from your ideas.

The last but not the least is the God factor which Chapter Seven presents as the central need of humanity, for which we all need faith in God and be conscious of His goodness to us and His willingness to help us in all our noble endeavours. He is so good that He gives rain to all regardless of religion, race and location. I close with a call to selling uprightly.
