The Little Things

When emotions are clouded & the world seems dark, the little things is what brings us back

This feeling deep inside that I cannot hide. I try so hard to change what it means in order to make things ok but it doesn’t do it’s job. I’ve spent too long searching for peace only to question my feelings. I walk along this path alone without the answer that I seek. A simple yes or no doesn’t validate what’s at stake.

Pushing it down and distraction becomes the perfect tool from facing it. Discovering the new things while facing the hard things brought life so much closer. Vulnerability was brought so much down it was almost off. The heart began to think. Think of patterns where you would fit. Where to go, who to see & what to do. Feelings of wanting & pain circling through. Gathering to bring upon anxiety.

Every time communication happens, it’s like a light turns on. A switch set to activate like a motion censor. Heart pumping & a moment when its hard to breathe. Act like normal to show nothing is wrong when all you feel is anything but. Validation and fear is what clouds the mind. Too deep down the well or too high in the clouds.

What makes it real is the result. The reactions that stem from the bonding. The feeling of security and warmth. Freedom and love that makes you flutter. Sometimes it’s reciprocated & yet there’s insecurity of real or fake. Being genuine or just playing the part.

Not just sunshine & rainbows but darkness & anger. Short term confusions of why and what ifs. The plot thickens as more emotions & information emerges. Acceptance is catered but rules are not. What can be said isn’t always what’s done. Things change everyday & so does people. Full of struggle & question communication is what sets things apart.

Tensions rise as more things spread like wildfire. Like the cartoons from the screen, they find ways to avoid the reality. Avoidance isn’t what’s happening. Inspiration to use the negative & turn them into a positive is how we do it.

The little things is what creates the pattern. The small touch on the shoulder or a moment of laughter. The little things builds to form what is a good emotion. In life where everything is busy & a stepping stone for the next thing, what’s forgotten is emotion. Feelings of self worth & pride. The idea that spending time for yourself to better yourself becomes more of a chore rather than a blessing in disguise.

The little things is what we can pay attention to. The smell of fresh fruits & vegetables from a garden or the sound of the leaves on a tree swaying. The small things that we benefit from can sometimes be overlooked & when life puts us in a corner, what we hold close is what can push us forwards.

Press on to a new dawn. Value the moments of our past. The little bursts of energy that gave you confidence or that little moment when someone’s advice inspired you to do that thing you’re still doing today. When there’s so much negativity it can feel easy to follow with the masses. It’s important to acknowledge yourself & not let the negative little things break you down.

Find the inspiration of peace to guide your way. So spread the color of peace & kindness. Practice saying hello. Learn the ways of cooking a good casserole. Little things that makes you smile & inspired to be better. It’s not always easy & it’s most likely hard. Allow the little things that gives us strength be the thing that will get us through. A smile or an act of good faith goes along way.
