Birds chirping with happiness & glee. On a Sunday morning where the weather is chill & winds blowing in to remind you that its not summer yet but it will be warm enough for short. Cars pass by as if in rush hour to get to their destination. A loud noise emerges, The sounds of a skateboard gliding down the street but its not a skateboard but a scooter big enough to carry luggage. On the floor tilted with a woman wearing a black jacket & a mask laying on the floor. Her left leg bent as she laid on the middle of a cross section. Helmet still on as she tries to catch her breath.

Nervous & embarrassed she watches as people gather to her aide. Surrounding her as if to sacrifice her to a higher power a collection of questions cloud her ears. Concerned & worried someone from a distance sees what’s happened & calls an ambulance. Someone in the surrounding group seperates to pick up the scooter & stand it on the street. This blue scooter that connects to a mobile app similar to a Lyft bike. Not knowing if she will continue to get charged or not she makes small conversation with the surrounding pedestrians. Some ask her for movement or if any part of the body is severed.

Considering what’s been happening around the world its easy to understand that not enough people go outside, let alone travel in groups to their destinations. Walking their dogs or trying to get that runners high people & cars pass by as no activity has taken place. In an efforts to stray away from other pedestrians, wearing masks & social distancing allows for safe travel & sometimes a fast travel around the busy city of New York.

A loud siren emerges from a distance in an area where a hospital is readily nearby. Unknowingly determined if it was for the adult woman, the ambulance with ringing sirens heads to the location & steadily approaches to a park position to aide the woman laying on the ground with her knee bent & her black laced helmet still on her head. A young looking guy in his early 20’s exits the vehicle along with the middle aged man in the driver seat. As they approach the women in distress the group of pedestrians eagerly ready to hound the EMT workers with information. Breaking the circled formation, the EMT workers focused their energies on the woman on the floor.

Gathering some basic info, info the essential workers realized that it wasn’t a hit & run or a car accident but merely a substantial incident where she curved the turn on the scooter & lost her footing which forced her vehicle to graze the concrete & her sliding off on top the pavement of the street. As the young worker in his 20’s leaves the woman to get the stretcher out of the ambulance, the older worker explains the next few steps that will lead her into the hospital & into the hands of the physicians.

In the midst of self isolation, safety & mental health is super important to maintain. Having the opportunity & time to get out & feel that fresh spring breeze is nothing compared to potentially ending up in the hospital. It’s important to stay safe while staying focused on your surroundings. Distractions are all around us & while it may be easy to succumb to these things, its suggested to be mindful of others and pay attention to possible interferences.

In this stressful times, its important to stay together & do our best to care for ourselves & those around us. The quality of human is priority & helping our fellow neighbor helps to spread joy & kindness towards others. The woman overall will be ok given shes in the best of care. Staying positive & hopeful helps the body recover faster while catering to your mental health. Nevertheless we can take from this how life can try us sometimes & even though we’re put down, its not a reason to give up but a moment to overcome & learn. Fight for your health & fight for peace.
