“They will always tell you that you can’t do what you want to do, but you can do what you want to do. You just have to believe in yourself. The system is to bring you down, but you can rise up.”—Bob Marley

Self-belief is paramount in going after your dreams and in achieving anything in life. It serves as a fuel that’ll reliably propel you on the daily basis to go for the things you want — and to continue to put efforts in the right direction for the eventual actualization of your goals and dreams.

It is where your strength will be anchored on. And where your motivation will always rest on. Self-belief is the reason why you’re going to record many achievements in life simply because you believe in yourself and in your ability to achieve success in everything you set out to accomplish.

Self-belief is like having a fertile ground where your seeds will always grow from. It’s like a personal reliable supporting system that’ll ensure that your dreams and desires in life would later come to fruition. However, in the absence of self-belief, your drive to achieve some of your goals in life might lose momentum along the line due to all manner of challenges.

It’s easy to say that you want to get something done. Or that you’re going to start doing something, but getting it done is another thing because being able to go after a goal or to get a project started doesn’t always translate as being able to finish it. But you can achieve your goals if your motivation and enthusiasm are robustly supported by self-belief.

Motivation and enthusiasm are very important in achieving anything in life. They respectively play their roles in getting you started on that project or task you feel very excited about. But motivation and enthusiasm alone aren’t enough to ensure that you accomplish whatever you set out to accomplish.

Therefore you must believe in yourself and in your ability to actualize your dreams and desires at all times. There should be something about you that’ll constantly reassure and empower you to continue to advance regardless of what your present reality might be.

This is so because the pathway to success is never going to be smooth. There’ll be hurdles to leap over. And sometimes there’ll be quick turns to navigate. But you can do whatever you want to do regardless of any situation you encounter out there if you can always believe in yourself.

And Like Bob Marley rightly said, they’ll tell you that you cannot do what you want to do.

Some people will not believe in you. You’ll make enemies, which of course is a good thing because it’ll make you stronger as an individual. Sometimes the system might be unfavorable as a result some of your plans might not go as you anticipated. Disappointment and failures would knock you down. And on some occasions, the people that started with you might desert you along the line. You might someday suddenly realize that all you’ve got left is you.

And you might feel discouraged — and disempowered to continue to pursue your goals if you encounter any of the aforementioned challenges. Something you were once very excited and motivated to achieve now seems out of reach. You’d then begin to wonder what happened? You begin to think of how to get on the move again.

Going after a dream or a goal in life when devoid of self-belief is like trying to drive to a destination with insufficient fuel in your car.

The Journey will commence — and initially, everything might be moving very smoothly, but later on, there’ll be difficulties after the fuel might’ve been used up. Progress would become impossible because the movement has come to a sudden halt. At this stage, it’d become very difficult to continue to move forward in the direction that’d eventually produce the desired outcome.

“Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right.”—Henry Ford

Self-belief is foundational. It affects your choices in ways you cannot imagine. It acts as a base to always rely on in all your pursuits in life. It is the main reason why you’d go after a goal and be able to get the desired result after some time.

On the other hand, lack of self-belief is the chief reason why you may never finish what you started because you either downplay your abilities to achieve the desired result. Or you allow some challenges to cause you to begin to think that you’re not good enough to finish what you’ve started.

The more you achieve impressive results in life, the more you become more confident in your ability to succeed in any endeavor. It pays to always remind yourself of how capable you’re off going after a task or a goal and working it to completion regardless of challenges and difficulties
