Overview

“After an extremely rough and bloody war between two greatest opponents a while ago, the winner brought with him the opponent’s most powerful soldier as a war prisoner. The war prisoner was then sentenced to death. The morning of his execution, he was given two options: to either be launched or choose to go through a door that no one knew either what was behind or where it led. He asked then what was behind the door, but no one could answer him because no one knew until then. Unfortunately, He chose to be launched instead of going through that door. Right after his death, a soldier asked the chief captain if he knew what was behind that door and the chief captain answered: Behind this door is freedom, but few people would choose it because it is unknown”

From this inspiring story I’d like to quote one of my favorite public speakers that I admire and respect. He says:

“So many people would prefer known hells to unknown heavens”.

(Lesly Brown)

Things that have already been accomplished are always and easily chosen over things to accomplish. It often feels comfortable and reassuring to do things that have already been accomplished because we know we can do them as well, but when it comes to dreams, expectations, and uncertain tomorrows, people become skeptical and fearful to take risk of trying.

The Known Hells

There are things that have already been done, records that have already been broken, dreams that have already been realized, expectations that have already been met, limits that have already been set, and so much more that has been done that there seems to be nothing new, left or more to do. There is no more desire to do, start, accomplish, and come out with something new. It is good to rely on people’s achievements to get hope that we will help us realize our dreams as well, but when that desire kills the motivation to learn and do behind the limit that has been set, all these achievements will take us nowhere in life.

We will keep on doing things that have already been done by those who have lived before us. The fear of the unknown is a natural feeling that comes to every man confronted to do something new to him or something no one has done in the past. This feeling can be so true that it kills so many dreams and expectations, but the question is: “If you knew that you could not fail, how big would you dream?”.

The Unknown Heavens

“A long while ago, a great warrior had to make a decision which ensured his success on the battlefield. He was about to send his armies against a powerful foe, whose men outnumbered his own. He loaded his soldiers into boats, sailed to the enemy's country, unloaded soldiers and equipment, then gave the order to burn the ships that had carried them. Addressing his men before the first battle, he said: You see the boats going up in smoke. That means that we cannot leave these shores alive unless we win! We now have no choice. we win, or we perish! Gloriously, at the end of the battle, The won. “

Napoleon Hill

The Unknown Heavens are great things we can accomplish but cannot see; Dreams we can realize, but cannot connect all the dots yet, records we can break, but cannot imagine yet. Very few people choose them because they are unknown. If we had the power enabling us to never fail in life, we would dream so big that no one could stop us! We would burn the ships of life that carried us so far, we would forget about all that has been done and start doing more for ourselves now. We would give ourselves only one condition: to live or perish!

The Golden Rule

In a world where the fear of the unknown is real and overwhelming, where the courage to open unknown doors is dead, we can choose to master our confidence and overcome our fears. Fear is false evidence appearing real, meant to stop us in our steps to greatness. Nowadays, we have people who know what they want, people who don’t know what they want, and those who know what they want but don’t know how to start or need encouragement and motivation.

The Unknown does not always mean something great. It can be painful or inadequate. However, the golden rule is “to try anyways”. Trying leads to deep learning and discovery, so the only way to make it is to risk it all!
