Making the world a better place is like climbing a steep mountain. It's hard. Very hard. There's no use pretending otherwise. But what makes it so hard to improve the world around us? One word: change. We often think we can change the world in a snap, but reality shows us otherwise. Real change, the kind that lasts, needs a collective change in how we think and see things. But our brains don't like that. Changing how we think takes time and energy—our mental fuel, so to speak. Many people don't spend enough time to make real change happen, and even fewer have enough mental energy in this stressful world. When you try to make change happen, especially on a big scale, you're up against strong, deep-rooted forces. I know how frustrating this fight can be, day after day. Giving yourself to making the world better will surely lead to moments of tiredness. You'll wonder if anyone is listening. You'll see things that could have been avoided and regret lost chances. You'll sigh at the thought of what could have been. Sometimes, you'll ask yourself if it's all worth it. Will your message ever get through the noise? In the midst of the mess and resistance, will your efforts make any difference? I've been there. I've felt helpless, useless, and totally lost in situations that seemed hopeless. I've felt the awful pain of thinking I could have made a difference, if only... And I know that as long as you're dedicated to the path of progress, you'll face these feelings again and again. It's not an easy road— if it was, more people would walk it. But here's what I've also learned: More people are watching than you think. When you put your heart into the world, there are people who notice. You may never meet them or hear their voices, but your impact touches them anyway. I've heard stories of lives saved by a stranger's honest question and warm smile. You may teach a lesson that seems to be ignored, but maybe the seed has been sown, waiting for its time to grow. Change may not happen right away, but your actions can have amazing results in the long run. You never know who's paying attention or when your words and deeds will take effect. Some of history's most amazing inventions were only valued after their makers had died. As the musical Hamilton beautifully says, "Legacy. What is a legacy? It's planting seeds in a garden you never get to see." So, keep telling your truth and giving your heart. Even if you don't see the results of your work, your efforts are not wasted. The world needs change, new ideas, creativity, and wisdom. It won't happen right away, but it has to happen. And it needs you. Yes, it will be hard, but know that there are people who support you. This is what it means to live by our beliefs—to keep going, to shine bright, and to open your heart, knowing that someday, others will get it.
