Love Yourself
Going through other entries, I found incredibly inspiring stories of mothers, sisters, mentors, and some celebrities here and there. It was extremely inspiring.

March being Women’s History Month, I would like to celebrate an incredible woman that inspires and motivates me. A woman whose resilience and tenacity I not only admire but also respect.

Can a woman inspire all of mankind? Can a woman motivate others to overcome their past, their pain, and their fears to live a successful and productive life?

Endless. Her energy. Her spirit. Her positivity. Her smile. Her thirst for knowledge. Her thirst for opportunities. “Endless” was the only term that described all of her.

Let me tell you about a woman who not only inspires me, she is an inspiration to many. I have known her since 2003 and since our initial acquaintance, she has not ceased to be a source of strength, encouragement and imeasureable enthusiasm no matter what the circumstances faced. Her name is Dagne Barton. Dagne has a bachelors in Business Administration and a Masters in Non Profit Leadership. She is a consummate professional as Executive Assistant. Dagne is a wife and mother, sister to many. She has devoted her life to her family and to the calling on her life.

I believe that everyone has a dream - big or small, it doesn't matter. As long as there is a drive to strive against something that is deeply personal and profound, dreams never die.

There it wasn’t so difficult, typing the first word. Reading this, I understand that your perspective may be different, but starting new ventures or musical instruments or ideas are hard for me. In this case, beginning new things in our lives can be quite challenging. Maybe you make a list or a target, a goal or you write a whole list of accomplishments on a post-it note and you become excited or daunted about the next step. And then actually continuing on that path results in overcoming a serious mental block. For me, I can see myself after the beginning somehow, but I find the start to be a confusing place. It’s a new experience, a place where you have no memories.
Peter MasonPublished 4 years ago in MotivationWomen Who Inspire: How My Environmental Justice and Civil Rights Activist Sister, Joanne Groom, Motivated Me
While studying abroad for college in South Africa, I had the intentions of studying public health and learning about a post apartheid society. Little did I know that I would be meeting astounding women and would soon be among them--swept up in politics and boldly making differences in my own locality of Boston. Despite being away from my mother and sister for months (which is the nature of studying abroad), I found other mother-like and sister-like figures; which I feel immensely grateful for. These included the local health workers in rural Nzinga, the nurses in Pietermaritzburg Hospital, the housing and infrastructure activists at Wentworth, and the land reformist professors of University of Kwazulu Natal. But one incredibly supportive, passionate, and kind-hearted soul who really stuck out to me was Joanne Groom. While I lived in the neighborhood of Wentworth, Durban, South Africa, I met Joanne who was the media and communications officer of South Durban Community Environmental Alliance: SDCEA--an environmental justice NGO which invests in helping Durban reduce air pollution. 50% of the children in Durban have asthma as a result of pollution; and that is only one effect of it. While many only think about the long term effects of air pollution (global warming), there are people now suffering from the short term.

There are so many facets of my life where someone has been a guide, a mentor or an inspiration. However, there has been one person who had been close to me, even at a distance, who “got me” right to the heart. A mother’s love is the mainstay in a girl’s life to be that guide to womanhood. Yet an individual who endured the uphill challenges and still be a successful template for greatness to me, was far beyond any inspiration I’ve had.

Hey Everyone, I hope you all are fine and are taking proper measures of social distancing against COVID-19. What if I ask you the question, who inspires you the most? Of many things on which I have pondered during this lockdown is this very question. When someone asks you this question, typically, your first response is a celebrity from your favorite TV show or a widely known inspirational idol.

What women drives me? I sit and think about this issue, but there's none that comes to mind but her. She is a dressed-up superwoman. When the world took her down straight, she recalled being herself, not letting them describe her. She only made herself to be who she needed to be and she understood that. Others will look and chuckle at her stumbling speech as she talked because they thought it was going to break her, but she refuses to accept it as a definition but rather lets it go because it is she who has realized that nothing will rescue her but herself from her fear.
