Making Ends Meet
I think we all long for the days in our childhood when we had no concept of what money was. We didn't understand how much food costs. We didn't understand how much hydro and heating and water cost. We didn't know that gas prices would one day be the bane of our existence.

The Universe Will Choose You. Life itself has a way of showing you the dark and the light. Experiencing being the chosen one allows you to do two things 1. find your purpose and 2. reap the benefits. It might not sound like much, but this past year the universe has shown me what it is the be chosen, what it is to have a purpose. See, in life, from the moment we are brought into existence our parents are already setting the vision for us, until of course we create a vision of our own of what or who we want to be.
Queen YvePublished 6 years ago in MotivationHow I Managed to Quit Overthinking
Overthinking honestly ruins you. It creates problems that didn't even exist in the first place. Over thinkers can make any situation worse, no matter how exciting/depressing it was before. It makes you more stressed, unpleasant, and also makes you question everything that happens in your life. It takes you away from the present moment and makes you worry about the future.

It's a parents job to help teach and grow their children, so that they are fully prepared for the real world. They spend 18 years sharing wisdom, life lessons, and knowledge on the inner workings of life. And if they are successful then the world gains a smart, mature, young adult to help shape it. Every life lesson is important. Every rule, strict or not, is important. Every word, thought, parenting strategy is important in a child's life. I'm sure there were some lessons that really stuck with you. And I don't mean the basic ones like "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it all" or "make sure to always save your money".
Bryanna BurshnickPublished 6 years ago in MotivationThe Meaning of Life
Life. What is the meaning of it? Isn’t that the greatest mystery known to mankind? If it’s not, please share all of your enlightening perspectives - because one can never truly know anything for certain. Perhaps the greatest mystery is what lies beyond our planet, our galaxy, our universe, but that's in a completely different realm of things. I mean right at this very second, with the billions of souls on Earth with different beliefs, morals, ways of life, and perspectives on why they think the sun continues to rise every morning and shed beautiful light upon our planet, plenty of people are perfectly content waking up and going about their routines, never venturing outside of their minds to wonder such things. I envy those people. There is a thirst for knowledge that is unquenchable, and always will be for me I think.

Life is like a cookbook. There are so many choices on what to make. And every choice has a recipe made by someone who's lived before you. There's instructions for chocolate cake, strawberry, vanilla, coconut, cotton candy, ice cream, cheese, coffee, even carrot and fruit cake. There's teeny tiny ones, extravagant ones. Plain or decorated. For every occasion from birthdays to weddings, graduations, and all celebrations. Or just because it's yummy. Whatever the reason, there's options available. Sometimes it feels like you don't have the confidence or desire to make one of these. But there are people saying that this one is great and that one is good, amazing, delicious. But what if you don't WANT to be making ANY of those cakes? What if you decide to create; let's say something completely original. Like... a beef flavored cake. Or hamburger cake. Everyone says that idea is stupid or disgusting or weird. Some may say it's impossible or that it might take a long time to figure out how to make one that's actually tasty. But you decide anyways to not be bound by anyone's rules. You go crazy! Baking all types of mysterious things. It might take 10 times as long than just following someone else's opinion, but you come to realize it's not ABOUT them. This cake is for you and you only. YOU have to think it's wonderful. Because you want to be unique. You want to be different. Not like everyone else who takes the easy way out. So life is like that.

Here's the thing. You're in high school wondering what to do after graduation. They tell you to follow your dreams and life will be alright. Well, last night I had a dream that I was exploring abandoned houses and caves with a very handsome stranger who turned out to be my cousin. Let's not follow that dream.

At sunrise, you wake up in bed, you look in the mirror and wonder what the day will bring. You decide to be nice for the next 24 hours, only to be stomped at from every angle that you are too nice. You come home only to look at yourself in the mirror wondering why you were stupid enough to be nice when no one else will be.
Hélaina MakkinkPublished 6 years ago in Motivation8 Useful New Year's Resolutions from Bridget Jones
We're a week in to the New Year - 'New Year, New Me' posts aplenty. However, some of us seem to have difficulty to kickstart our resolutions unless all holiday leftovers are gone. Bridget Jones has inspired me to write a New Year's resolution post, having seen Bridget Jones's Diary (with a comprehensive mind; I last saw it when I was 8) on New Year's day. To help (me) you (and everyone we know) to be inspired as well, here are some of Bridget Jones' New Year's resolutions that are well worth giving some thought.
Karina ThyraPublished 6 years ago in MotivationWhen I Got a Second Chance at Life
This sounds too cliché, doesn't it? Getting a second chance at life after a tragedy occurred, and how it changed my perspective. I also believed it to be completely cliché, until it actually happened to me. And yes, it did turn my life around for good. The only part that was missing was the tragedy part, and I'm thankful for that. You know how everyone says, "You know the things that you've always wanted to do? You should do them."? that's exactly me. I really do live by the ideal that we get only one life, and it's our responsibility to make it worth living. But an event occurred that forced me to change my ideals.
Rahi ShahPublished 6 years ago in MotivationJob Lost This New Year?
It's a new year…you feel this is your year to be a new you. To do all the things you dream of doing. Well, that’s the way I thought it would go and I still do. You see, my new year started off great until I went back to work. Let’s go back six months. I decided to move to a new state and try something I thought at the time was my dream job…working at a university. I was excited at first, but it went downhill really fast. The job was not what I thought it was supposed to be. The people I work with were not the best people to work with. Lots of backstabbing, gossiping, and doing things that were not even in the job description. I was so disappointed. I left the comfort of my city to move to a place I feel did not like me. It is the job from HELL. But I stayed while looking for others. Twelve interviews and counting. Now let’s go back to the day after New Year day. I am at work and I have my normal meetings I have with my boss. To make a long story short, it did not go well. Now in my younger days, I would be upset, but this time I was very calm about the matter. For me, that shows growth in the area I thought I will never grow in. You see, my goals for this year was not to get a new job (however, that is still on the list), but to improve on my inner character, so when trials happen, I would know how to handle it better. So I want to give you five ways to stay positive while going through trials in life. These tips are helping me through this and I am sure it will help you.
