Ossiana TepfenhartPublished 6 years ago in MotivationQuestioning Popular Thinking
We all at some point of our lives want to fit in the society's perception and please its expectations. What expectations? Well, the right age to get married and have kids, what degree you should obtain if you want a good future, where to live, etc... Perhaps we do it because we want to feel ourselves as part of something, or accepted by a group, a community, or an organization. It might be okay, as long as you don't lose your own identity and keep your ideals. However, the truth is that these expectations please an imaginary individual called popular thinking. Even though many people may agree on certain expectations or thinking, it doesn't mean it has to be correct or, at least, the best way.
Alexander SarmientoPublished 6 years ago in MotivationI Don't Want to Wake Up Most Days
There are some days I don't believe I can wake up. Some days I don't know if I want to move forward, if I can even get my feet on the floor. Some days I'm too afraid of the world to want to open my eyes. I am afraid of the empty feeling that lingers whenever I awake from my dreams.

We’re living in a country where our government believes that fighting war with war will stop people from going to war, a government that thinks educating our nation's children with the knowledge of BIDMAS is more important than educating them with the knowledge of how tax and wages work, and how to go about budgeting your money so that when it comes to renting or buying a property you don’t end up in a shit storm of debt; a government that’s more interested in piling tax on to products containing sugar or cigarettes than fixing our pothole filled roads.

"Stop!" she shouted. "What? What is it?" "Look down, closer," she whispered back. Below them on the trail was an ant. A tiny, black ant, looking back up at the women. Laura reached down and put the tip of her finger to the ant's face.

Fear is only two of many different ways we perceive it to be. True fear which you acknowledge as danger causes you to freeze, hide, or flee. Then there's irrational fear which is a phobia, but fear could also be a sickness for the people who think very differently than the "normal" way of thinking. Fear can cause damage to a person's brain and impair the memories, so their way of thinking is distorted.

I'm crying while writing this article. I don't even feel sure whether or not I should publish it here. But Vocal seems reliable and safe for me.
Eny JoyPublished 6 years ago in MotivationThe Quest for Purpose
This is the question we all find ourselves asking. Fair enough, no? We all look for a reason to live, a reason to push through all of the bad times and the depressing moments that are unavoidable and inevitable.
Dim ThoughtsPublished 6 years ago in MotivationThe One and Only
Lately things have been in a grey area... Dealing with a broken family, past mistakes, and loss can severely take a toll on people who barely seem to catch a break. When you have so many issues present all at once, you naturally tend to look for happiness in places to fill the void or help distract you, and that's what I did. I believe fate led me to him, but it surely wasn't fate to end up there. I found my short-lived happiness in another person, and that's absolutely wrong to do! His smile alone was enough to take away a week's worth of pain that I constantly felt. How can that be possible? How can one person numb a giant list of your problems and pain? I found him when I was in a dark place, and I was still there when he left me. Always remember true love moves your spirit out of that dark place; you guys grow, learn, and care for each other together. TRUE LOVE NOURISHES YOU ALWAYS!
Mel ShafferPublished 6 years ago in MotivationDear 2008 Me
Dear 2008 me, Hey, I know this might sound a little bit crazy, but remember that one time you swore to yourself that if this ever happened you'd believe it? I'm you in the future. The year is 2018, the Jonas Brothers aren't together anymore, and Donald Trump is the President of The United States of America. I'm sorry, I know this sound like the beginning of a bad joke, but I'm totally serious.
Barbara SpoorPublished 6 years ago in MotivationUnpopular Opinion: Not Having a Passion is OK
Have you found your passion in life? No? NO? Follow you passion! Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life! Guess what? You probably won’t find your passion. Chances are, you might not even have the world’s definition of a “passion”.
JJ LongPublished 6 years ago in MotivationDefeat Yourself
Many of us are defeated before we’ve even begun. We’ve subconsciously placed ourselves in the losers' circle because of the habits we’ve developed over time. Everyday things that we’re doing which ultimately result in our demise. The "cheat day" for our diets that happens at least three times a week, the thing you've always wanted to do but not until you research it and decide it's too much work, or the trip we've always wanted to take but instead end up spending that money on the clothes and morning coffee instead.
