Remember This To Cultivate A Calm Mind: This Too Shall Pass…

A Businessman just signed a deal that would place his company in the league of Multi-Billion Dollar League. It was one of those Joyous moments that he had envisioned in his childhood and endured in his youth. Not all are fortunate enough to build a company from ground zero and place them in the leagues of Multi-Billion Dollar League.

He informed his wife about the deal. His wife was unable to contain her pride. A broad smile on her face was apt to indicate her joy. The tears in her eyes helped her to express her feelings.

This dream was shared by both and this was their moment of victory.

A distinct memory flashed into the mind of the wife. She remembered the promise they need to keep in these cheerful moments. It was time to fulfil that as the instruction was specific & they both need to act on it.

She reminded her husband about the promise they made in the past.

The promise came flashing to the businessman's mind. He was lost in that memory. Eighteen years ago to be precise.

That Businessman was yet to make it big, as he was struggling with 9 to 5 jobs barely able to feed his family. He decided to start something of his own. He found what he was going to do & he jumped right into it.

He knew where to find money to invest, how to recruit a dedicated workforce, and where to find or create a market that will grow the company. All of this helped him to succeed in his life. He had a fair share of troubles on the way but that made him work harder for his dreams. He enjoyed his success by spending family time.

During one of the vacations, his family met a sage at one of the holy Pilgrimages. He saw something divine in the posture of that sage. The peace on the face of sage attracted that Businessman. In his life, he had never seen such a calm face. He bowed down to the Sage and Sage smiled. They discussed divinity for a long time. The Sage identified the virtues present in that Businessman and offered two envelopes, one red and another blue.

The Sage asked that Businessman open the red envelope when everything goes south. When everything falls apart and when he can no longer face the circumstances, open the red one and ponder over the wisdom of the words written in that.

The blue one should be opened when he thinks that all is going according to their wish. Everything has fallen in place and nature is there to help them prevail. The sage instructed the businessman to open the blue envelope in the most joyous of moments in their life. The businessman promised to do so.

The Businessman rushed home & open the locker to find the two envelopes. He picked the blue one. He was going to open it but he gave it to his wife to open the blue envelope.

One a creamy white aged & crunched paper was a small handwritten note in Sanskrit.

Which Means This Too Shall Pass…

The Businessman was amused by the message. Two words failed to quench his curiosity which was building up for years. But he knew that the sage was different and these words would matter much.

Time flew in months and all the family members were busy in their life celebrating the victory that the businessman had in his career.

But as the envelope highlighted, it was all about to pass.

And so it happened.

One of the manufacturing plants caught fire. The business suffered a great blow from that but it was recoverable due to the new deal.

Luck was on the other side of that businessman. The deal went south as the other party forecasted a huge loss from that fire mishap.

The Insurance Companies hesitated to reimburse and the banks were not happy to loan him out. All of the things were coming crashing down on him.

Only one thing was intact: the stock price and that too would suffer due to the faltered prediction and panic sold by greed. All things came crashing down and once a billion-dollar company crumbled to the ground.

He auctioned his home and other property to pay the debt. While shifting out of that home, he found that red envelope. Furious due to past experience, the wisdom that was now his reality, he decided to tear that envelope into pieces. He was about to do that but the good side took control and he gave the envelope to his wife. His wife opened and their face failed to hide the disappointment.

Same Paper, Same Words, and Same Wisdom.

What was that sage thinking?

Did the Sage forget to replace the paper in one of the envelopes?

Did this message was indicating something?

Is it a clue to a treasure?

It was. It was the roadmap to one of the most cherished and after-sought treasures: Inner Peace.

He got the message from the words. He felt the peace that he once saw on the face of that Sage. He got the gist of what that Sage was trying to give through these words.

That night, he slept peacefully like a child devoid of any worries. He got the gist of life.

Life is a collection of good and bad circumstances. Sometimes you have to face the darkest of times that no one can imagine. And Sometimes there would be so much joy that makes us doubt whether we are worth it or not.

All in all, there will be circumstances on both ends, all we have to do is to balance them with inner peace. Face all the events with wisdom that everything passes, give it time, and some effort. A new Morning indicates New Beginning.

He woke up with determination and decided to give it another try.

Unlike fairy tales, it took another nine years to once again attain half of what he had previously. But one thing that his past didn't have was Peace. He faced the up and downs in his life without any worries. He felt at peace in response to everything that life tried on him.

The Peace that those wise words of that Sage inscribed in the Businessman's heart were some of the addition to his wealth. Now, he was ready to face any situation in his life whether it be good or bad. The envelope had few words but those were worth it to let an individual rise again and face life.
