Read This If Nobody Texted You Good Morning.

First and foremost, I want to say to you “Good morning, beautiful”.

Is it too late to say it? because it can be so difficult to be on your own. The nights and the mornings are the worst. There’s something about going to bed by yourself, or waking up to an empty bed and no messages that makes you feel empty and hollow. It feels like no one cares, like you don’t even matter, like no one would even notice if you just disappeared off of the face of the earth.

It’s so easy to feel unloved. Unappreciated, unrecognised. Like no one gets it, like no one understands what it’s like to be you.

People ask you how you’re doing, or how your day’s been, or how you slept. The answer’s always the same. ‘Fine, thanks.’ Because you know they don’t really mean it. You know that they’re not interested in hearing the truth. And so you give them a reply that you don’t really mean, either. And they go about their day, and you go about yours, and you feel more lost and lonely than ever. And so it goes on, day in and day out.

Loneliness is a slippery slope. It’s easy to start to fall down the rabbit hole, to begin to feel as though things will never improve. That’s why it’s so important to get some perspective, to get yourself back on track and to remind yourself of who you are.

Although it might feel like it at times, it’s not that nobody cares. People get wrapped up in themselves, absorbed in doing their own thing. Just as you don’t always think to reach out to people, they don’t think to reach out to you. Try not to take it too personally – if people really knew how difficult you were finding things, they’d make more of an effort. People care, they just don’t always realise when people need to feel that caring. Don’t mistake their lack of closeness for lack of caring.

In any case, it doesn’t really matter in the end whether the people you know and talk to really care or not. It doesn’t matter whether or not anyone understands you, or recognises the same things that you recognise.

All that matters is that you understand yourself, that you recognise the significance and beauty in your life. Because nothing lasts in the end, but nothing is lost. Your recognition is enough.

Your worth is enough. Your smile, your laughter, your tears all mean something, even if you’re laughing alone.

So remember that nothing lasts forever. Remember that this too shall pass, and that there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Being lonely can be hard, but it’s also an incredible opportunity to reflect on life and the things that are most important to you. It’s a chance to return to balance, to reorient yourself and gather your strength to strike out in a new direction. In any obstacle, there is always an opportunity to do things differently.

The truth is that you don’t need anyone or anything. You are complete in yourself, in this very moment, even when it doesn’t feel like it. Confusion and feeling lost are just as much a manifestation of your completeness as clarity and purpose.

You are who you are, and who you are is beautiful, unique, and worthy, even if you feel like you’re the only person who recognises it.

So, chin up. You’ve got this. There’s a whole world of opportunity out there – don’t relegate yourself to one tiny corner of it and tell yourself that you’ve exhausted all possibilities. Embrace the adventure of life!

Oh and “Good night beautiful you! Sleep well and may all your dreams come true.”
