Max Cooper's Amazing Piano Skills

While there is no question that we are living in truly stressful times at this very moment, we also need to be aware of our blessings as well. For example, when it comes to the Coronavirus, everyone would agree that it is very dangerous and it has made a severely negative mark on our society. However, there are many things that this virus cannot do as well. For example, one thing that COVID-19 simply cannot do is stifle our creativity. One hall school senior in Olathe, Kansas exemplifies that very fact.

As a senior at Olathe Northwest High School, Max Cooper is a young man of many diverse talents. Indeed, he is planning on majoring in Music Composition at Utah Valley University once he is able to graduate high school. From an early age, it became evident that Max Cooper was going to be something special when it came to playing the piano. He not only does it, but he does it well. He does it so well, in fact, that he recently made a TikTok video that pays homage to some of the things that he has ardently missed during this COVID-19 outbreak. Once you listen to the video, you will quickly realize why it went viral.

You see, Max didn't just make a dull online speech discussing the things he missed; he showed off his top-notch piano skills during this video as well. He breezed through piano compositions covering the theme music from the

March Madness events, the MLB, the NBA playoffs, the Masters, and even the Olympics. When you look at Max's piano skills, it really is no wonder that he has over 580,000 followers on TikTok.

Young Max Cooper joins a long line of musicians who have their own unique response to a crisis, both personal and societal alike. For example, Beethoven was one of the greatest musicians the world has ever seen. However, during his most famous years he suffered from deafness and he had an increasingly dysfunctional home life.

Today, many musicians are responding to the COVID-19 crisis in the best way they know how - by sharing their music with the world. One other example would be Randy Newman, who recently wrote a song called "Stay Away", which extolled the virtues of social distancing. He wrote this song per a request from California radio station KPCC. Apparently, Randy Newman not only has a musical pedigree, but also a scientific background as well.

Yet another way in which musicians were showing support during this crisis was through doing charity concerts. One of the most well-known musicians to do so was Lady Gaga, who put on a charity concert with a long list of both rock and country stars doing shows right from their very home. They were trying to promote not only entertainment but also the importance of staying at home during this difficult time. Obviously, concerts are very crowded places, and so having a traditional concert just wouldn't be a good idea right now. This benefit also featured appearances from many different celebrities, including Matthew McConaughey and Don Cheadle.

There is no question that Max Cooper is in very good company with these other more well-known musicians trying to help during this Coronavirus upheaval. Of course, even though Cooper isn't nearly as famous as these well-known names, he helps others every bit as much because the piano skills he exhibits in this video provide a much-needed distraction to many during this difficult time.

All of this here is the triumph of the human spirit. This is what separates us from the animals. Even though this is a very difficult time for all of us, we still have the ability to create high-class and stunning works of art. Simply put, virus or no virus, this kid has some real talent, and he is going to accomplish quite a few things because of his piano skills.
