Inner VOICES!!!
They can be a frustrating bunch. For some of us, we hear them every day and for some, they whisper at unexpected moments in our lives. We don't think about it much, and we may not discuss it with others, but most people have a voice in their heads. The stream of thoughts that runs through our heads most of the time. Sometimes an inner voice encourages me and tells me to keep facing challenges head-on. "You're almost there, just keep going!" Keep going! ", Or you may be asked to calm down, knowing that everything will be fine in the end.
But sometimes… ...the inner voice is not good at all. It's defeatist, punitive, panicking, and humiliating. It is far from representing our best insight or our most sophisticated skill. It is not the voice of our better nature. We say, “I hate you,” “You always do wrong things,” or “This good-for-nothing.”
Where does the inner voice come from?
The inner voice has always been the outer voice. We record other people's sounds. Parents who are sexually abused or angry, threats from older siblings who try to bring us down, the words of a bully on the schoolyard, or a teacher who seems impossible to please. We have internalized the useless voice. Because those voices sounded convincingly at key moments in the past. Authorities and Instructions repeated their message over and over until it became deeply rooted in our own way of thinking.
Changing our inner voice is critical to achieving happiness and maturity . This means that you will encounter opinions that are equally persuasive and confident over time, but also helpful and constructive. And pay attention to internalizing them. It could be the voice of a friend, a therapist, or a writer. We need to hear them often enough on very difficult subjects so that they feel normal and natural in their responses.
They feel like what we are telling ourselves.
They become our own thoughts.
The best inner voice speaks to us softly, softly, and slowly.
You should feel a merciful arm wrapped around your shoulder by someone who has lived a long life and seen many sad things but was neither bitter nor panicky. In certain humiliating situations at work, many of us have ridicule and contempt in our heads. It suggests that love, respect, and kindness can always be obtained only through worldly success and competence.
Our failure:
If we can't speak in public, it takes us a long time to learn to drive, or we can't be good salesmen, we naturally shy away from love and appreciation. It should include a voice that separates performance from love.
This reminds us that even if we fail, we can still be worthy of love, and that being a winner is only part of a person's identity, not necessarily the most important part. This is traditionally the mother's voice. But it could also be the voice of a lover, the voice of our favorite poet, or her 9-year-old talking to her mom or dad about office stress. It's the voice of someone who loves you for who you are, even if you haven't achieved anything. Many of us grew up with nervous people. People who were mad when they couldn't find their tickets, and that has been derailed by relatively minor administrative hurdles such as electricity bills. They weren't sure of themselves, so they didn't necessarily want to harm us, but they were also very unsure of our abilities.
Every time we went to an exam, they worried more than we did. When we went outside they kept asking if we had enough clothes and worried about our friends and teachers. They were convinced that the holiday was going to be a disaster. Now this voice is ours and it clouds our ability to accurately measure our capabilities. We have internalized voices of irrational fear and vulnerability.
At times like these, we need alternative voices to put an end to fear that has spiraled out of control, and let us be reminded of the strength that sleeps within us, and the tide of panic that hides from us. Our head is a large spongy space. It contains the voices of everyone we've ever known. We have to learn to silence the voices that don't help and focus on the voices we really need to get through the thickets of life. We humbly offer this voice as it is one of the most informative voices we can consider.
