Doses of Motivation

1. How can we possibly know the taste of something unless we’ve eaten it? Therefore, in order to realize the joy of seeking knowledge, its important that we first start seeking it. And then we will fall in love with seeking it.

2. It’s important not to diminish the importance of reminders. Its easy to stop giving reminders because giving reminders takes effort and humans by nature tend towards laziness. Although we all realize the importance of reminders in a society full of evils, reminders are also important in a pious society. Because we need to remember that you can only go high if you are at your lowest, but when you are at your highest, you can only go lower. Therefore, if reminders for goodness stop in a pious society, the society can slowly turn into an evil society. For example, even if people regularly help the poor, it is still important to refresh the importance of helping the needy in their minds. Reminders act as an awakener of ideas already present in our minds, but those ideas may have gone for a temporary sleep. What’s more sad (in our perceptions) than an evil person becoming more evil is a pious person becoming evil.

3. If we keep undermining all our efforts, deeming them as useless and minute, we can never reach the finish line. After all, all accomplishments start with a decision to try. Those attempts build up over time to become the final product. And to master a topic or complete a task, we need to fully focus on it without being distracted. We need to chose our line of interest or specialty and then avoid changing fields unnecessarily. After all, we will never encompass everything in this worldly life.

4. Just like we need our eyes to work in order to see as well as the light outside, similarly, we need two lights to see the reality of this world. Firstly, we need the light of our heart. We need our inner person to be alive. And then we also need the light of revelation. So we can only reach the truth once both lights meet.

5. The more the knowledge, the more the perspective and the more tools you have to solve problems.

6. The Importance of The Journey of Persistence:

The real solid way to achieve anything in life is not to jump at it. Rather being slow, steady, patient and persistent are the main keys. The example used to explain this is that of making a building. Imagine making a building in a hurry. Such a building will not be well-designed. The building first needs to be designed and specialists need to be hired who need to carefully calculate everything.

It is the nature of humans to achieve everything quickly. But going slow has its benefits. We learn many things along the journey. We can develop many skills along the way. Our brains like to absorb things slowly and tend to forget things that were learned or observed hastily. Working gradually and steadily trains our brain and molds them gently and slowly to learn the new skills and knowledge. Revisiting the same thing again and again creates a familiarization in us.

Our intention also counts. Doing something to show off to others can put us off. Something that we do out of our own interest produces better results.

Our journey of patience is just like that of a tree giving fruits. It produces its fruits years later. But it begins its journey under the ground, where no one knows it. Just like that, being patient and persistent with our deeds will allow those deeds to produce their results which, just like the fruits of the tree, will be juicy and sweet.

And lastly, we never know what other new skills, knowledge, surprises, adventures etc. await us along a journey of patience, steadfastness, persistence and dedication that we would have missed out on a journey of haste, shortcuts and laziness.
