As being a Millennial Woman, or any woman involved in Business or in North America. You’d be very aware of who Michelle Obama is, unless you had lived in a very remote dark place on the Earth and were unaware of your surroundings. Michelle Obama, First Lady and a fashion icon for North America, she wore American Fashion to promote their growth. Her fashion style influenced me that you can still be beautiful even though you dress very classy and in a very conservative way. This influential Black QUEEN, affected the USA if not the WORLD.

Her backstory of her family history seemed to be some of the sadness that has plagued the Black History. She descended from slaves, also had a mixed background which includes; Irish, English, and Native American roots. These made her who she was and would often say that she used it to fuel her. Michelle Obama was a great daughter, student and also doctor prior to becoming First Lady. She achieved so much individually and I believe the reason was because of the gender discrimination. She rose above the things that tried to bring her down.

As an amazing Black Queen her studies were impeccable; she was on the honor roll for four years prior to attending Princeton. In Princeton she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and majored in Sociology and African-American Studies. She went on to attend Harvard Law School and earned her Jurdis Doctor Degree. She later went to work at a Law Firm and met her future husband, also the Future First Black President of the USA.

Being the Great Black Female that she was married a very successful man, Barack Obama. Michelle throughout her career definitely didn’t allow her marriage to define her. When her husband ran for Senate she supported him and had actually encouraged him to move to D.C. and at this time they had prepared to move to Washington also, leaving her roots and family in Chicago. She was a supportive and loving wife to her husband; this was a pure queen move.

When Barack was on his presidential campaign she reduced her career workload 80% in order for her husband. This was a truly unselfish act, she inspires me to do the same when my future husband is also following his dreams to achieve greatness. I would choose to reduce my career or life in order to help him achieve the best life ever. Even though she loved a private life she knew that having a life with her husband she would be subjected to pure scrutiny of the public eye. Again, she made me realize through her actions that the love of your person is more important to the things that are in our comfort zone, and it’s also okay to give up your comfort for your person's happiness.

She had two wonderful daughters with her husband, and they attended a prestigious private school. It was a perfect example of how she had worked hard to overcome her own discrimination to give her two daughters the best life. She inspires me as a mother and a minority group to use it for fuel in order to overcome the obstacles that are in my life in order to become a strong Native American woman career-wise and also as a mother too. Not only has she proved her worth academically, career-wise but now as a devoted wife and mother. She preserved through every obstacle for her as a Black Female.

In 2009 Michelle became the First Black Woman to be First Lady. She has inspired me as she had overcome the discrimination as a minority group. Also to be supportive of my future partner in their life goals and put aside my comfort zone. Michelle had been the First Lady from 2009-2017, this was an amazing accomplishment for Black Women. Michelle not only fueled her fire and inspired her own daughters she inspired women everywhere.

Michelle worked hard while being First Lady to work on Women’s Rights. She helped advocate for equal rights in the workplace, working to help women receive equal pay. This helped encourage me to also not settle for any pay or treatment that men had given me in the workplace and to always receive my worth. She also worked with many initiatives from helping military families, homeless veterans and women groups across the world. She has taught me to always stand for those who deserve their voices to be heard at this time. She also worked on childhood obesity and to help fight it. Which helped me to also focus on my own children and ensuring their health, their health would be the most important thing I could give to them.

‘Michelle also helped the movement of the LGBT community throughout her time as First Lady. Her and her husband publicly announced also their support to same-sex marriage. This helped to remove negative mindsets towards the LGBT community, it also helped me to positively support openly the community. As I had done previously through walking at the Pride parade and attending closed LGBT meetings also supporting my LGBT friends. The support they need is the most important as they are a sensitive group.

Michelle as a Black Woman had become a First Lady, Career Driven and Great Mother. She is an example of the total package as a woman. She is a role model for all women, published author and was inducted this year into the Women’s Hall of Fame. This is why Michelle Obama is one of the greatest women and a huge inspiration for me as a woman and a mother. If I can become even half of the woman she has and achieve her status I would be forever grateful. I would love to meet Michelle Obama and tell her how thankful I am for the inspiration she has given me and the person to become and also thank her.
