People always come up to me and ask, "You get up at five o'clock every day and keep running in the morning every day. How can you be so self-disciplined? Don't you feel miserable?"

I think self-discipline is a very beautiful thing, and I don't think it's so painful. We feel pain because we put ourselves into our comfort zone for a long time and assume that this thing is painful and think that everyone will think so.

Let me give you an example. For example, if you have not exercised for a long time, and you suddenly want to try to exercise today, you persist for an hour, but your body is very uncomfortable with this exercise because you have not exercised for a long time, and you feel especially tired, so you subconsciously think that exercise is very tiring, and you will be very tired every day, so you will think that it is a very painful thing.

Another example, for example, you never get up early, you suddenly get up very early one day, resulting in your lack of sleep, the biological clock is not adjusted, you feel very sleepy all day, and then you will feel that getting up early is also a painful thing.

People are always like this, they think self-discipline is painful based on some "short" experience.

If self-discipline is painful, why do so many people stay disciplined, are they willing to live a painful life? So many people are obsessed with the gym every day, do they just like to be in pain? In fact, no, people who can persist for a long time, they instead enjoy the happiness brought by this thing, such as long-term fitness, he tried to physical comfort, stronger body, better physical strength, so fitness for them is a very happy, very enjoyable thing, they are used to it because they get the benefits of self-discipline.

If you set yourself a goal, you have to decide to read a hundred books, but you feel that you will not necessarily stick to it, so you find your friends to monitor you. But you forget that you don't like to read at all, and you force yourself to do something you don't like to do for a long time, and this thing is a pain in itself.

Self-discipline is a spontaneous, voluntary thing, not forcing yourself to do something you don't even want to do, but rather counterproductive, find something you like, and then stick to self-discipline, is responsible for yourself.

So how do you insist on self-discipline? I have summarized three methods to share with you.

1. set yourself a long-term goal that can be accomplished.

Self-discipline is their responsibility, then we also need to know what they want, and what kind of life they want. Don't set some grandiose goals that you can't finish. If you don't get timely feedback on your goals and achieve them promptly, this will put you in pain and cause you to fail in your goals and your self-discipline will fail.

2. Commit and fulfill it

When you achieve your goals, your other self will come out and make trouble. The phone. You must learn to resist their laziness, you can tell "him" to finish reading this chapter first, and then go play with the phone, so you will find that over time, this other self disappeared, and instead you can self-discipline to complete your goals.

3. Make a good plan and plan your time.

If you only have a goal, without any specific plan, then your goal will easily be disrupted the pace, such as when you just want to read, but you are delayed by other things. If you don't have a plan, then you can easily feel anxious, so you need to make a plan to keep yourself focused on what you're doing for a certain period.

Self-discipline is not a painful thing, what is painful is the short-term pain you think you are in, and self-discipline is taking responsibility for yourself.
