Living Through a Pandemic

No one expected to be living through one, but we can make it through it.

One day you're living life normally, going out to eat, spending time with loved ones. You don't expect life to turn upside down the next day. You don't expect to not get to see those loved ones, or to go out to your favorite restaurant for a long period of time. All because something random happened somewhere far away. All you hear or see on the news is all about this new virus going around that is infecting and even killing many. A panic can ensue and make you be scared to even touch your own face.

For introverts it's not like much has changed, except for the small fact that everyone has to stay inside. If they didn't live alone that is. For those who do then it's like everything has been flipped multiple times. After a few days of a "new normal", you start to feel the onslaught of restlessness. None of what is happening feels like it's gonna take longer than two weeks. At least that's what all would be hoping for. Extroverts are just as annoyed at having to stay home and keep distance if needing to do essential things. Though some do not follow the restrictions put into place because they don't like being held back from doing their normal day to day. Everyone starts to feel aggravated eventually.

Days go by, weeks go by and now almost two months have gone by. Most of the world is starting to feel even more aggravated than at the beginning. All of us having to stay inside to stay safe and stop the spread. Though some definitely don't follow the guidelines. Which prolongs flattening the curve and keeping this awful virus at bay. Some days it feels like this will never end especially with people not listening. In some places people are even starting to cause problems and protest the lockdown.

Doing such things isn't going to help flatten this curve or help our economy. If we open everything too soon it's a good chance we'll have to redo this all over again. NO one wants to do that. I know I don't. We all want normalcy again, but we cannot have that if people are not going to listen to the guidelines and start rioting. We need to follow the guidelines, be safe and be courteous of others lives.

So many lives have been lost and continue to be lost everyday. We need to put a stop to this spread if we are going to get anywhere. It's definitely hard having to get used to all of this especially for such a long period of time. But I am confident that we can do it.

None of us expected to be going through a pandemic this year. Some of us never expected to be living through another one. Those are a rare group of individuals of course. Things like this are definitely not easy. Yes it's hard not getting to go out and about or go to concerts, places to eat and many other things. But we could have it a whole lot worse. We could catch it and have everyone we love be worried about us. Or we could be one of the essential workers who have no choice but to go out daily just make sure things are staying on track.

Nurses, Doctors, Car Shops, Food places that serve take out, and so many other essential businesses are putting their lives on the line to make sure the rest of us can have things we need. Like food, medical attention, fixed car problems, and many other things. They are at risk every single day. I personally want this to be over with just like everyone else. It's insanely hard. But they have it harder cause they're terrified of infecting their loved ones if they even think for a second that they could spread it from being at their essential job. They have to deal with so much mentally and physically. My heart goes out to each and every individual that is an essential worker right now. I thank them with all my heart for what they do on a daily basis during this pandemic.

My heart also goes out to all who have lost their jobs due this non essential businesses being out of business right now. My heart goes out to those who cannot pay bills, who can't put food on the table, and those who are struggling so hard during all this.

Finding things to do while staying in this quarantine is sometimes easier said than done. You can find so many things to do like read a book, watch tv, text loved ones or sleep. But doing it on repeat for nearly two months can make even those favorite tasks seem just way too boring to keep doing. I found that looking into new hobbies that cost little or nothing at all could help even a little. Or just going outside and sitting on your porch for some fresh air time to time could help. It of course is not for everyone which may make finding new things to do difficult and make you even more bored.

I truly believe that we can stomp this curve into the ground and get a hold of this virus. We will be able to get back to our normal lives I do honestly believe it. As long as all around the world continue to social distance and listening to guidelines put into place by medical professionals and local/or state officials. We can get through this.
