Fortunes Agenda
Clem was pondering the laws of relativity from today’s lesson with Professor Sharpe whilst walking home from class. She stopped at the traffic lights as they turned amber. The girl next to her, who she couldn’t help but notice as she wore a floor length black dress, a large sunhat and sunglasses that were nearly as large, just ran on across. Clem herself wore a jacket and a woolen hat, as it was February, and the sun was nowhere to be seen. Some things fell from the bag on the girls back. Clem bent to retrieve the items, but before she could call the girl back, she looked up and seen her chunky soled boots peek from under her long flowing skirt and step onto the kerb opposite, and cars began whooshing past Clems face. She stood and took a step back from the traffic, clutching a small black notebook, and a velvet pouch.

A Delicate Freedom
His eye stung as the smoke gravitated toward his face. James rubbed his eyes until they regained focus and stopped tearing. It was a hazy, misty morning of a typical autumn day and the air around him laid heavy and saturated. He took a couple of drags from his freshly lit cigarette and then stamped it out on the bottom of his sneaker. It left an acrid taste in his mouth. James thought he would find comfort from an old habit even though he had quit years ago. All it did was increase his anxiety. He was nervous.

Am I Walking the Path or Only Acknowledging That it Exists?
I have been struggling with anxiety filled days. It happens when I have been writing, but not publishing anything on the websites. It is prolonged when I see that the return isn't much at all. I know this is a path I chose and that I have yet to explore all avenues for writing income, but some days it is hard to be optimistic about it. Then I try to rush writing the book and I end up with pages of crap.

Bound
It was another hectic day at the law firm. Being a legal secretary to three partners is synonymous with not having a life, being overworked, driven to exhaustion. Well, that is how Sarah feels every single day, yet she does it, believing that in life, you must work hard to be successful and live the American dream. She dreams of the day when she can finally retire at 65 with a decent retirement savings and finally do the things she loves to do - like reading, walking to the beach, painting, singing, cooking, traveling the world, and most of all, writing. After Sarah got promoted to Senior Legal Secretary, she has not slept for at least 4 hours a night.

Pigeon Park
The night was not hot or humid. It's March, and it's not even night. It's a mild and foggy morning. Saturday morning, in fact, and Lorena finds herself sitting on a park bench picking crumbs off her itchy sweater and feeding them to the pigeons that are bobbing their heads around her feet. A slight sigh drains out of her. She thinks about Pidgeon's and how they are not asking for much. They have their mediocre suits on, on a mediocre morning eating mediocre crumbs. The Pidgeon's are okay with this, and she wonders if she is a pigeon in life. Maybe. If she suddenly turned into a Pidgeon, she was dressed for it.

Notebook
Its supple, black leather had allure. The way it could feel like velvet and butter all at the same time. That luxurious sensation provided a lot of interaction for the small notebook. Its spine still stiff from disuse loved being stretched as someone’s thumb splayed its pages open, releasing the favourable aroma of new paper and old leather. While these caresses meant a great deal to the notebook, it craved words. It burned with a desire to be written in, to become soft in the spine, creased in the leather, and filled to the brim with ideas.

Where Two or Three Are Gathered
Today will be the day. I’m sure of it. These are my first thoughts as I wake up. I take a moment before getting out of bed to stay in that space of gratitude. Been following a lot of spiritual accounts on IG lately to keep myself motivated. Its been two years since I began incubating my business, vision boarding, writing down affirmations, research. I look over at my nightstand. My entire business plan is in that little 5x7 black book perched precariously on the edge. I take it everywhere with me. I never know when I might be inspired by something, have an idea that I think, no, BELIEVE will set me apart from the competition, might read something that I want to incorporate into my business model or be in conversation where something is said that solves a problem I’ve been pondering or have a dream that needs recording. “Write it down, make it plain.” That’s scripture , Habakkuk 2:2. You never know today because people just ignore crediting a source. I don’t understand that because.. damn, you have heard of Google, right?

So You Want To Be a Writer
I've wanted to be a writer since I was a child. I bought three-ring notebooks, and filled all of them with wide lined paper so I had plenty of room for my large handwriting, and room to cross out mistakes and write in the correct sentence or words. I kept these masterpieces under my bed so I could refer to them when I needed inspiration, and also, so I didn't write about the same things over again, although most of my stories sounded eerily alike.

“You is strong, you is kind, you is important.”
Rituals are super important. And I want you to take a moment to think about your morning rituals. My ritual happens to be the same as J Shetty, former monk, now businessman and advocate for wisdom going viral. He is an influencer. Who is bringing monk principles to the main stream. #MakeWisdomgoViral . Our morning rituals are the same. We wake up, go brush our teeth, we have meditation time, we spend some time outdoors in nature just being grateful for the day, then we check social media for a bit before we head on over to the gym ( Jay is more about light cardio and boxing, where I am about jump rope and yoga). Long story short if you won’t take it for me that rituals are important, at least listen to someone who was a former monk.

The "Magic" in black business.
I have to say that I honestly admire, Earvin "Magic" Johnson. I did not have a clear vision for what I wanted to do with my life, now that it was not being revolved around my children. I knew that I enjoyed writing and wanted to see where it could take me. However, after reading Mr. Johnson's book and learning about his vision that drove him to build, repair, and create jobs, businesses, and decent communities for Urban America I was truly inspired.
