2020 was not exactly your best year. It seems that you were always against the current and that everything that could have gone wrong went wrong.

Maybe you lost your job or a family situation caused your life to take an unexpected turn.

There are years like these full of trials and tough times when we think nothing could be worse.

The truth is that even though life puts us through trials that are sometimes very difficult to overcome, they should always be seen as challenges that you will learn from and that will make you a better person.

It is natural that after a year full of complications, you ask yourself if that was all and now you deserve a rest, if it was enough and now it is time to enjoy moments of calm or if it was just the beginning of a season that promises to be hard and difficult.

While negative news made the headlines this year because of the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, at the same time other things were happening in the world with a positive tinge.

In this note we leave you with some of them, so you can end the year with more hope and motivation.

While COVID-19 isolated people, in a way it also brought them together

Singing or applauding in unison from the balconies was a way of demonstrating unity and generosity towards each other.

From different parts of the world, applause and shouts of congratulations were heard from the health personnel.

Also, some people offered concerts for their neighbors from the terraces of their apartments. It seemed impossible, but some were able to witness a concert in the midst of the pandemic.

Second HIV cure in the world

This was the Venezuelan Adam Castijello (40), who was taken over by the media when certain researchers from the University of Cambridge announced that they had detected no trace of the HIV virus in his blood.

This was possible thanks to a treatment with stem cells.

Less contamination allowed for never-before-seen images of Everest

This was due to the measures implemented by the pandemic, e.g., containment. In this way, the air of Nepal was gradually cleared to the point where you could see Mount Everest from a distance of 200 kilometers.

With regard to the decrease in pollution, it was something that was evident all over the world, in fact, some species were seen again in places where people did not go for months.

FIFA presented a project that will protect players on maternity leave

It is a project presented this year to take into account the rights of female soccer players during and after having children.

Among the proposed measures, there is a compulsory maternity leave of at least 14 weeks with the payment of the ⅔ salary, medical support when rejoining the team, and greater labor protection.

Dogs and cats will no longer be allowed in China

For the first time, the country excluded these beings from the "official list of edible animals".

Thus, the organization Humane Society International valued the measure, noting that the Chinese government considered these beings as pets.

The world of music did not stop!

Several albums were released despite the pandemic. Apparently, the confinement inspired the artists.

Thus, Time magazine chose the best musical productions that were released this year.

Here are some of the ones chosen: Tiwa Savage, Celia; Grimes, Miss Anthropocene; Makaya McCraven - We're New Again - A Reimagining; Gabriel Garzón-Montano - Agüita; Perfume Genius - Set My Heart on Fire Immediately; Taylor Swift - folklore.

Another singer who was not left out this year was Paul McCartney who released an album corresponding to the third "McCartney". Have you heard it yet?

What do you think about it? Everything is never so bad... Let's welcome 2021 with more hope!
