IT’S THE CLIMB

With pain and suffering, positivity isn't just a switch, it's a climb and we all have moments of fear and despair.

FIND A WAY

I often find myself talking about very raw subjects. The reactions I get from others can be concerning, some have even interpreted my views as negative and said to me, “you shouldn't be so negative.” I found this merely insulting, “ me negative?” Sometimes we need to reflect on these things to truly understand ourselves and others.

By doing this we first need to acknowledge that a single person’s interpretation of you, does not come near to defining who you are, not someone you've known for a long time, and most certainly not someone who hardly knows your last name.

All the same it is important to acknowledge the responses we get, towards how we represent ourselves. No single being is constant in their moods and growth as individuals and therefore we can't always be expected to act perfectly the same, but we do affect one another daily even hourly, living in a world that's gone viral.

Everyone's trauma is their own and none are comparable when it is personal and internal. Every person’s pain and fear is their version of the worst that they have ever had to deal with, so never compare yourself to others but gain strength in knowing that you are not alone in your fight, no matter what that fight may be.

I have had a big question for myself, something I have considered for the past 10 years and finally I think I understand.

How to be positive? How to help someone to be more positive, without just merely saying - “just be positive!”

I like to find the positive in every negative. So I thought about my process and noticed a pattern.

By acknowledging the negative without letting it consume you, only then will you be able to reflect on it all clearly, and find the beauty beyond all the suffering and pain.

Understandably all is relative and some pain can be far greater than others, taking far more time to understand, control and reflect upon, but the truth is that nothing is more powerful than suffering. Pain comes in many forms but it is for you to choose to grow from it all, by simply acknowledging what it is or was and wont be forever.

A quote that kept me going since 2010 -

“It always seems impossible, until it's done.”

Once you conquer your routes, you can conquer anything and that beauty is nothing short of strength and opportunity.

HOLD ON

I have faith in the power of the mind and I believe that, what the mind thinks, truly does manifest into your reality and it happens fast, before you even know it. I am living proof of this lifestyle and as a Lupus patient I want to share my thoughts, how I reach the point of acceptance and understanding, of all the fear and negativity, in my mental and physical health.

A positive or negative emotion is not just a switch and a hope for better days, it is something you work on, challenge and face every stage of your life. This feeling doesn't go away, it returns in different ways and new changes in your life, ignoring this pain will only allow it to fester inside you.

"Just start by believing its possible."

Only if you choose to face it all, can you truly move forward successfully, in ways you didn't expect or even imagine possible. Remember one thing, we are all only human, there are days of happy thoughts and there are down days. Learn to understand the difference in your unique behaviour patterns, because they do matter, and always trust that nothing is permanent, but the only constant is you. So what you do for your wellbeing today matters more than any heart ache, physical pain or frustration.

It's important to take care of yourself, emotionally and realistically. Realistically speaking we are all just as capable of fooling ourselves as we are knowing ourselves. Without knowing it we find ourselves casing hidden insecurities, and without acknowledging it, we all procrastinate as a true human rebellion against our responsibilities.

This is okay, because it's okay to be human, just as long as, at some point you listen to your body and mind, evaluate your state and choose to find something that brings sunshine to your day.

DON'T GIVE UP

"It is actively seeking that makes us more positive, it's not positivity itself."

Just like time, we need to keep going and so we can't allow negativity to slow us down. Stress is an invisible illness just like Lupus, it affects all walks of nature and happiness is a personal battle you need to find the strength to seek out.

If i told you today, the fight is worth it, would you fight!

“It's the climb that gives us the power to keep going but it's the battles along the way that give us the strength to hold on.”

Us Lupus patients are given a gift, it's not easy but it's a valuable gift nonetheless. Why? Because we are forced to learn how to live a perfectly health and balanced lifestyle, some might say that's boring but before you know it, you are more empowered than ever before.

As Lupus patients we are often faced with the true meaning of the value of life. We can fear it or choose to live life everyday with passion and care for our bodies.

KEEP SEEKING

"Look yo find the beauty in dark places."

Choose a valuable life, make the moments you do have count, for those you may miss out on. We might be limited and restrained at times by our bodies, this frustrates us of course but just like we go through moods, we go through pain flushes and the only mood that deflects pain is happiness and positivity.

Lets master the art of fighting our physical bodies with the power of our mental state of mind. It is possible, it's not easy but it's worth every second.

“No great person made their way to the top without great struggle."

If our battle is a healthy balanced lifestyle, let's show the world just how it's done, how it should be for all walks of life, not only the immune compromised. We have the power because we are aware, more aware and more appreciative of life.
