I Don't Fit Into Most Circles

Form Your Own Shapes

You may read this title and initially think to yourself "What the heck is he talking about?" And for good reason. At first glance, it doesn't really make much sense. I had a hard time wrapping my head around this idea when it first came to me as well. But as I continued to think about it and brainstorm what direction I wanted to go with it it all started to make sense and take shape. It's not about isolating yourself, being alone, or anything like that. It's about being yourself and letting that guide you.

What I'm trying to get at here is that I accept the fact that I'm different and unique. And you should too. It's great to have circles that we're all apart of and communities that we associate ourselves with. In fact, we need that. As human beings, we need community to grow and to inspire each other. Human connection makes us all better. Plus it's a whole lot of fun to experience things with others and to encourage and help our fellow brothers and sisters grow in their own journeys.

What I am trying to say is don't be afraid to be different. Don't be afraid to go against the crowd. You don't have to try and fit into every circle out there. In fact, I believe that you should only try to fit into the ones that really mean something to you. The ones filled with people who love you or the ones that inspire you to grow and help you out along this journey of life. But don't try and be something you're not in order to fit in with a group of people. Form your own shapes if you have to. Be unapologetically yourself 100% of the time and let the people come to you. If you do that then you'll attract the people that you want in your life and scare away the others who you probably don't want in your life.

Don't change who you are for other people. Do you know how exhausting that can be? Always trying to be something you're not or always trying to change who you truly are in order to fit in with different groups of people. It's a recipe for burnout and disaster.

You don't want to go through your whole life always trying to fit into every single circle that you come across. Sometimes you just need to step back and create your own shapes. Don't let anyone's opinion of you make you change who you are or the mission that you're on. Don't let someone who thinks your idea is dumb force you to scrap the whole thing and give up. Stay the course and be confident in who you are. And always remember above all who you are not. If you can remember who you are not then it will make being who you are a lot easier.

The bottom line here today is to stay the course and be yourself. We all have goals and ambitions that we want to accomplish but can oftentimes be thrown off by the smallest of criticisms or fear of not fitting in with the group. Don't let that be you. Instead, be who you are, chase your own dreams, and run your own path. While you're doing that watch who you attract towards yourself. I bet they will be exactly the type of people you want to be around. The type of people who want to build you up and support you in your chase of big goals and ambitions.

On The Path.

Up Before You.
