Dead Light Bulb "Just Start"

After being married for only six months, my wife and I decided to start a business. Now over a year later, we have over 8k true, organic followers on Instagram and close to 500 pre-signed up clients! This is without any paid marketing efforts, no Facebook ads, Craigslist ads, or anything of that sort. So, how in the world did we end up with such a following? I'll get to that...

What I want to stress, however, is how to just start on your passion or dream! I meet countless of people every day that I carry meaningful conversations with that lead up to these exact words: "I wish I could do:______." Fill in the blank. Have you ever said these words to yourself: "I wish I could do:_______"? These words are dangerous in my mind. These exact words mean you have concluded that the mere fact of even trying to go for that "wish" is impossible and therefore could never be obtained. My friends, we are living through the greatest era of all time! Your very own phone has become CNN and FOX and you have the capability of producing, creating, designing whatever it is that you desire. Furthermore, with the help of that mobile device that you are probably reading this article from, you can reach an audience anywhere in the world. The goal here, then, is to simply just start.

What’s the worst that can happen? Failing? That’s okay. Learn from it, get back up, and move forward to the next idea. Read up on all the greatest founders of today's era, and look into their past failures. Here is a solid example:

  • Prince was a janitor and used that job to pay for studio time.
  • Oprah Winfrey was fired from her first television job as an anchor in Baltimore, where she said she faced sexism and harassment.
  • Walt Disney was fired by a newspaper editor because he "lacked imagination and had no good ideas."
  • Steven Spielberg was rejected by the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts multiple times.
  • R.H. Macy had a series of failed retail ventures throughout his early career.
  • Soichiro Honda's unique vision got him ostracized by the Japanese business community.
  • While developing his vacuum, Sir James Dyson went through 5,126 failed prototypes and his savings over 15 years.

Let that sink a little...

The real question here is: how badly do you want it? Are you hungry enough to work at it every day until you see success, even if it means persisting for a few months or even a few years?

Again, just take the biggest step of all. Just start. Once you have, I can guarantee that you will build momentum and you will not be able to stop. You will fall in love with the process and you will awaken something inside of you that has not been awakened in such a long time. It is an obsession, a love, a mindset of wanting to see success towards your project. Now, if you have no idea how to start your venture, I have a great source for you. Open up a browser, go to the URL, and type in these exact words. You ready? G..O..O..G..L..E.com... It's really that simple friend. That is an absolute open source for information on the web!

All you need is a little effort to “Just Start” and trust me, you will obtain that "itch" to keep on going!
