We all know very well that there are several benefits of chanting Hanuman Chalisa regularly as it is said to be the most effective mantra in Kaliyug.

People who recite Hanuman Chalisa on daily basis experience several benefits like calmness, reduced anxiety and stress and over period of people time people start to witness that all their dreams which seemed to have been blocked due to some issue or other start getting materialized. Hanuman also protects his devotees from any unexpected harm.

Though there is benefit in chanting Hanuman Chalisa any way you like as the most important thing is to feel the benevolence of Hanuman with a true heart but I would like to share some simple ways of chanting which will further elevate your experience of Chanting Hanuman Chalisa.

What Should you Keep in Mind While Chanting Hanuman Chalisa?

There are several important things to follow when you chant Hanuman Chalisa so you are able to achieve the maxmum benefit that is bestowed to the true devotees of Hanuman:

Always Complete the Full Chalisa, Do Not Stop Mid-Way

This is probably the most important rule to follow which chanting Hanuman Chalisa. Every time you start the mantra make sure you finish it before getting started with some other activities. This is especially important for people who get distracted easily as they have the habit of starting the Chalisa and then some random thought comes to their mind or they are reminded of some other work they had to do and they suddenly stop chanting.

It is said that the full effect of the Chalisa is only realized with each complete chanting of the mantra. Ensure that you complete the entire recitation before moving on to any other work you have to do. Best way is to plan the recitation in your daily routine in a way that there will not be any disturbances when you are reciting. Early mornings are the best time as there are no disturbances and distractions.

If for any unavoidable reason you need to stop mid-way then make sure you complete the chanting as soon as you get the time.

Chant it Loudly

There are some mantras like Mahamrityunjaya in praise of Lord Shiva which should be chanted in your mind and so sound should come out of your lips. In fact it is advised to make sure your lips don’t even move when you chant Mahamrityunjaya in your mind.

Hanuman Chalisa on the other hand is more effective when chanted loudly. I am not saying you should be chanting as loud as possible to your lungs capacity.

What I mean is that you should pronounce all the verses and should be audible so that at least you can hear what you are chanting. If you want to do bit more loudly then it is also perfectly fine.

Visualize the Chalisa while Chanting

Many people chant the Chalisa very quickly just for the sake of getting over with it. That is not the right way, you should always be mindful of the verses that you are reciting and understand what they mean. The best way to recite in my opinion is to visualize in your mind what the verses are saying eg. When you chant “Laye Sanjivan, Lakhan Jiyae” then visualize in your mind that Hanuman is carrying the Dronagiri mountain with Sanjivani booti for treating Lakshman.

I would strongly recommend you try this out for 40 days and on the 41st day you will surely notice positive changes around you.

If you would like to understand the exact meaning of each verse in the Chalisa and what event they signify so you can visualize it correctly, then do let me know in the comments and I will surely make a follow up post on that.
