How are People Successful in Long run

A lot of people get motivated in their start-up but after sometime their motivation falls to an all-time low. What makes people successful in long run? What are the factors one should keep in mind to make sure that they are successful in the long run. This blog will talk about what makes someone successful in the long run.

How to achieve

Achieving your goals can be tough, but not impossible. I believe that by following these steps you will be able to achieve your goals in the long term and get yourself on the path to success!

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.

-USA President, Barack Obama

You might need to adapt it to fit your lifestyle and situation, but that’s fine. The important thing is for you to find a way of staying motivated and determined for the long-term!

Create a strong mindset

In this section, we'll take a look at mindset: what it is and how to create a strong one.

Definition of mindset: A set of beliefs one has based on the reality (factors) they deal with.

Goal

You can change your mindset by changing the way you make sense of things, the stories you tell yourself, your identity and the different identities you have.

Setting goals is another very effective tool that changes your belief system in a way that supports achieving success.

It's important to define both short-term and long-term goals before you start working on an actual solution!

Make your goal as tangible as possible

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary

-Apple, Steve Jobs

Obviously, in order to be successful in the long-term, one must first set a goal that is realistic for them. While it may be tempting to have something like: "I want to win an Oscar," as your motivation when you start writing scripts, the statistical probability of this happening is low, especially if you're writing the scripts on your lunch hour. Many people are inspired by seeing others succeed at what they want to do--this can be a great thing. However, don't let others' successes discourage you from setting big goals for yourself. Instead, look at their success and think "What they're doing seems amazing! I want that!"

"My biggest motivation? Just to keep challenging myself. I see life almost like one long University education that I never had -- everyday I’m learning something new."

- Virgin Group, Richard Branson

Make a commitment to yourself, then stick to it

“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.”

– Walt Disney, founder Disney

The first step towards a successful career, is committing to yourself. When you make a commitment to yourself, it’s the bridge that takes you from dreaming to reality. A commitment is what makes us do what we do and pursue our goals in life.

Race

Once you’ve made your commitment, stick to it! You don’t know how many times I’ve come up with an idea for something and then never did it because I didn’t commit myself to it. I would always say that my time wasn’t right or that I wanted to wait until I had more money or until another time when things were “easier.” The truth was, though, that even if those things weren't true at the time, they weren't really excuses.

They were just me not wanting to face the reality of making a commitment and following through with it on top of all the other things I was doing in my life.

“Ideas are easy. Implementation is hard.”

– Guy Kawasaki, co-founder Alltop

Remember to keep all your work organized

To ensure that you’re working efficiently and being productive, you’ll want to prioritize keeping things organized.

Keeping your personal life, projects and goals ordered is crucial for success. Take some time to develop a system that works for how you work, whether it's an app or an old school planner.

Not only will this help you keep track of what needs to be done, but also how much time you have left before a deadline. This will prevent any unnecessary stress from procrastination or cramming at the last minute.

Don’t get me wrong—it’s totally normal to pull an all-nighter in college when finishing a paper or project right before it’s due. However, don't let that become your modus operandi for getting things done! Being disorganized can lead to feeling overwhelmed by the amount of work placed in front of you.

Have a positive attitude

The greatest discovery of all time is that a person can change his future by merely changing his attitude.

– American talk show host & author, Oprah Winfrey

Try your best not to be negative! Don’t dwell on the past or worry about the future. Just stay positive during the process. Remember that you are doing this for you. If things get tough, remind yourself why you are doing it and how far you have come already.

Keep a schedule, and stay on track

One of the most practical things you can do to stay on track is to write a schedule. With a list of tasks and goals written out to complete at a certain time, you will be more likely to actually complete them. Make your goals attainable and realistic in relation to the time that you have available. Prioritize your top 3 tasks by writing them at the top of your list. This way, when you look over your list, you will know what is most important and have an easier time focusing on those tasks.

Ideas

If long-term goals seem too daunting, try breaking them down into smaller steps with specific timelines for each step so that they are easier to focus on and achieve! You may not be able to do everything all at once, but making sure that you always have something positive or constructive going on in life can drastically improve motivation levels!
