From Corporate Burnout to Purpose: How Tabetha Russell Is Rewriting What It Means to Build a Legacy
Visionary Women Spotlight

Some people spend a career climbing a ladder someone else built. Tabetha Russell spent 33 years doing exactly that, and then she decided to build her own. What she created has since helped thousands of women discover that freedom, flexibility, and financial independence are not just dreams. They are learnable skills.
That story of transformation found its way to a powerful stage this year at Her March Forward Conference and Awards, held at Bishop State College in Mobile, Alabama. The event brought together a room full of authors, coaches, and changemakers on Women Veterans Day, a day the City of Mobile chose to honor in a big way. City leaders presented a proclamation to visionary Dr. Lena Payton-Webb, recognizing her work and the movement she has built to celebrate women who served. Tabetha Russell stood among the speakers that day, adding her voice and her mission to a room built entirely around honoring women veterans and the women who show up for them.

Who Tabetha Russell Is
Tabetha Russell built a distinguished 33 year career in the insurance industry. She became licensed in property and casualty as well as life and annuities, and she earned her LUTCF designation, the Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow credential, from The American College. Her record of leadership and training reflects a lifelong commitment to guiding others toward security, success, and peace of mind.
Today, Tabetha is the proud owner of Tabetha Russell Notary LLC. Since being commissioned in 2020, she has completed more than 2,000 signings, and she has turned that experience into a full training system for other notaries. As a National Notary Association Ambassador, she combines her expertise with her passion for service, helping notaries across the country build businesses that are both profitable and purpose driven.
She is the founder of the S.E.A.L. Academy, a course built around a simple truth. Becoming a notary is about far more than stamping documents. It is a gateway to freedom, flexibility, and financial stability. The S.E.A.L. framework walks new notaries through four stages. Set your foundation, establish your business, attract and amplify your visibility, and lead with confidence. Students learn everything from getting commissioned the right way to building a brand people trust, then walk away with the mindset of a CEO instead of someone just picking up side work.
Tabetha also authored Seal for Success, a book that reads part memoir and part roadmap. It traces her own journey from corporate burnout to notary freedom, then hands readers a six month plan built from her own 2,000 plus signings. As she puts it, your future isn’t waiting, it’s ready to be sealed.
A Woman of Faith, Family, and Purpose
What makes Tabetha’s story so relatable is that she never pretends the path was easy. She built her business while staying rooted in her values of faith, integrity, professionalism, and encouragement. She is a devoted wife and mother to her children India, Teddy Jr., and Teon, and a proud GiGi to her grandchildren. That family foundation shows up in everything she teaches, because Tabetha is not just building notaries. She is building women who know how to rise, rebuild, and design a life that fits who they really are.
She often reminds the women she mentors that no matter where life takes you, you have the power to rise, rebuild, and create the future you deserve. It is more than a tagline. It is the same lesson she lived out when she walked away from a corporate career that no longer fit and built something entirely her own.
Showing Up for Women Veterans
When Tabetha took her place among the speakers at Her March Forward, she joined a lineup of authors, coaches, and consultants gathered for one shared purpose. Honoring the women who served this country and often did so without the recognition they deserved. The conference and awards ceremony was built to change that, giving women veterans a stage, a story, and a spotlight of their own.
The timing could not have been more fitting. The event fell on Women Veterans Day, the very day the City of Mobile chose to publicly recognize Dr. Lena Payton-Webb with an official proclamation, honoring her vision and her tireless work lifting up women who served. Bishop State College opened its doors to host the gathering, giving the moment a home inside a historic institution that has long stood for opportunity and community in Mobile.
For Tabetha, being part of that room meant standing alongside women who understand discipline, sacrifice, and resilience on a deeply personal level. Her message of reinvention and purpose landed in a room full of women who have already lived their own version of starting over and rising stronger. It was a fitting match. A woman who rebuilt her own life speaking directly to women who rebuilt theirs after service to their country.
Why This Story Matters
Every woman in that room at Bishop State College carried her own story of resilience. Tabetha Russell’s story is proof that it is never too late to walk away from what no longer fits and build something that finally does. She took 33 years of corporate wisdom and more than 2,000 signings worth of hard won lessons, and turned all of it into a system that other women can follow step by step.
Her presence at Her March Forward was more than a speaking slot. It was a statement. Women who serve deserve to be seen, honored, and celebrated, and the women who show up to build them up deserve that same recognition. Tabetha Russell showed up, and in doing so, she reminded every woman in that room of something worth carrying home. Your next chapter is yours to write, and it is never too late to begin.
