Since of the beginning of humanity, people make friends.
You can be an introvert or extrovert, since childhood someone appeared in your life, in school, in the neighborhood, at work, and even inside of your family, there will always be that cousin that you have more affection for and knows all of your secrets.
Even if they don't know everything about you, the truth is each friend has something to teach you. Friends to advise you, friends to make you laugh, friends to teach you good and bad things, different people, and in and in between there's one friend that is the all of these things, that normally we call our best friend. Just people, different ones, each one with their unique way.
There are billions of people in all world, the same way you can have different friends, each one will teach you something unique about life.
So if you walk with people who make your days better, you have good friends. That person who brings light into your days and brings the best out of you, warms your heart and soul, so you'd better keep those's friends.
So here goes a little story...
Caio, 8, was a smart little boy, full of confidence, funny, strong, and very talkative. He could easily make friends in school. So, one day a new student arrived at school, Mario, 8, short, the kids thought Mario was quiet but he was mute. He was a special kid. But he was not able to use his voice, just sign words. Like most special kids in school, who have difficulty making friends because of their disabilities, Mario struggles to adapt himself to class at school.
In break time, Mario normally was always alone. He seems like he was used to that solitude. Sometimes kids bullied him. Everything changed, and Mario was always struggling to communicate through signs with other's kids in class.
Like every class with a workgroup, Mario was put in a workgroup by the teachers to learn and develop more in class with other's kids.
On that afternoon, Caio and other's four kids were part of that group. As kids who were used to teasing each other, Caio friend's started to tease Mario because he was struggling to communicate in the workgroup, so one girl sat close to Mario and helped him. Suddenly, Caio's face changed, he felt bad for Mario, and noticing that what the other's kids were doing was wrong, he changed his seat, he took his chair and sat in front of Mario, looked into his eyes and said: "I will be your friend." Mario, astonished with Caio attitude, smiled softly. The other's kids were noticing that Caio changed his seat and attitude. They were silent. Of course, Caio was there, choosing to be Mario's friend.
After that day, Caio started to work hard, every day he studied sign language. He started to sit close to Mario and help him at school, he started to include him in every break. Suddenly the entire class had learned how use sign langauge so they could speak to Mario. Now Mario was the popular one, always laughing and totally happy. The boy who didn't have one friend now had all the class speaking his language because of one act of kindness shown him that changed everyones attitude towards him.
So on the last day of school, I walked through the stairs, and I saw Caio and Mario sitting laughing, eating some popcorn. I understood. That was true friendship.
Friendship is powerful, like Caio and Mario, keep your good friends close, and make new ones, always.
