It is normal to feel dejected about our failures, however, whether we want to admit it or not, failures are stepping stones to our future success. There are huge lessons in failures, but the stupid ones disregard the lessons and sulk as a victim instead.

In fact, there is never any great persons of success who have not at one time or the other failed, either in business or in their personal life. But they become great today because they learnt the lessons and utilise the lessons as stepping stones to success.

"Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker. Failure is a delay, not defeat. It is a temporary detour, not a dead end. Failure is something we can avoid only by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing.'' Denis Waitley

Here Are The Eight Ways Of Bouncing Back From Failure To Success

1. Avoid The Blame Game

It is very easy to start blaming others for what is supposed to be our own fault or error. Do not do this, but rather remember that we are each responsible for our actions or inactions. Moreover, you will find it difficult to learn the lesson of failure if deep in your heart, you believe it is never your fault.

2. Take A Realistic Assessment Of The Situation

This is like taking an audit of yourself, the business and the reason for the failure. The audit puts every issue in the perspective, and you will be able to identify the root of the failure, take corrective action and move on.

3. Be Grateful For All Lessons Learnt

Whether you want to accept it or not, gratitude is huge in all aspect of our lives, including the failures in both personal lives and businesses. The failures shake us up to grow and develop above who we are currently are. Without failures, most lives will be monotonous and boring. The lessons learnt will be a speedway for new actions.

"It's failure that gives you the proper perspective on success." - Ellen DeGeneres

4. Be Enthusiastic To Start Anew

Now that lessons have been learnt, you should be very enthusiastic to start all over again. If you are not and ready to start anew immediately, the lessons of failure will be lost, and you will be back to square one.

5. Feel The Failure, Do Not Pretend

There is no point in pretending we like to fail. No one does. The pain of business failure or any failure for that matter is real. Feel it, so that you can bounce back refreshed. How you feel it will depend on each individual. You can take a holiday, or time off, short break, whatever resonates with you. After that, you will be ready to start all over again.

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." - Winston Churchill

6. Track Your Progress Vis A Vis Your Plans And Goals

Now that lessons are learnt, do a mini audit of your progress. This is to ensure you have not deviated too much from your plans and goals. Decide when your mini audit is relevant, and compare and contrast. This is because you don't want to make the same mistake again.

7. Relish The Experience In Failure

Experience, people say is the best teacher, so let it teach you. Experience is something you cannot get for nothing, because it empowers you in the end. It has its significance in that it is retained in your memory, and better than what you read in books, or learn from classrooms. One always remembers the lessons of experience. Use the lesson in reorganising yourself towards success.

8. Have A Success Mindset

Midset is very powerful because as you wish it, it becomes. If you are determined to move from failure to success, it will be possible. Only you have to work towards it and believe you can achieve it. Learn the mindset tools to make you move forward from failure to success.

The Takeaways

It is through failure that you sulk, sit back and think. This means failure sparks innovation

"I've made billions of dollars of failures at Amazon.com. Literally billions of dollars of failures," said Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

There is always something to learn from mistakes.

Mark Zuckerberg once advised, "don't even bother trying to avoid mistakes because you're going to make tons of mistakes."

Failures humble us. It beats our ego pants down. Make us reason realistically, and draw out our priorities. Failures make us look at alternatives we have earlier abandoned, listen to our partners and subordinates, all in our quest to find solutions and succeed.

There is a great lesson in all failures
