Create powerful habits that'll make your life better
What to practice, and why?
Habits are the most powerful things we can create for ourselves.
Good habits can add to you becoming a successful professional, a better parent, or a better friend.
Bad habits can contribute or even be the culprit to you becoming a person you woudn't even recognize right now. Just look at the statistics of various addictive behaviors that today's not-so-fine addiction creating-, spinning-, fueling industries are going to great lengths to recruit new users. Those potential future users are normal people like you and me, with a little less self control, and a little more of an invincible Superman self-perception.
So, create habits, that would make you a better person. Better at navigating your ecosystem, and better at being a decent human being in the world.
Here are some points that will start you in developing the habits that will serve you well in accomplishing the above mentioned 2 goals: for yourself, and for being an asset to humanity:
1.Learn the basics of body language, as long as you’re around people it will serve you well. Words count only for less than 50% of communication, body language and tome of voice fills the rest. So if you're missing >50% of what's going on, you're missing out on a lot more than what you think.
2.Develop your own style in all you do. Plagiarism is so last century! Be Original, because in art and in life an original is always worth more than the best copy. Fads are changing, develop strong values and convictions at your core, and you'll never fall for fads that can change the next day.
3. Help those in need, the young and the elderly. You never know who sees you being benevolent, but even if never will see you being good, you'll know that you are, and that makes all the difference in your life, and in the life of the recipient of your goodness.
4,Regaining trust is way more difficult than gaining it in the first place, be honest, live with integrity, it will pay off big dividends throughout your life. If trust were a traded commodity, it would go for more than gold. And its value would never decrease. Don't miss out on someone telling you ''I trust you''. It is better than anything else you'll ever hear in your life.
5.Study some Martial arts, it will teach you respect, responsibility, honor, and how to save your own behind in case you need it.
6.Do good out of your heart, so your intentions will line up with your actions. If that's not the leading source then you are faking it.
-Who needs that?
- People can see right through you, save yourself the embarrassment.
7.Develop good vocabulary, it's sexy to be able to communicate well, some may not care, but some do, don’t miss the chance to awe those in the later category.
8.Humble yourself when you smell a chance to boast and leave others in the dust. The temptation is not worth it.
9.Dress the best you can, that doesn't mean an Italian Suit, it means ironed slacks, shined shoes. People will remember you.
If you wear a wrinkled shirt and muddy shoes people will remember that too. Be careful
As Yoda said "Do or do not". Hell is wallpapered with good intentions.
10.Be true to your word, it's your brand. Don't destroy with one lie/broken promise what took you all life to build. Companies spend more on creating and sustaining their brand, than they spend on other factors, that why we trust some brands more than others. Developing your own ''brand'' is not about your outer appearances, but it is about your character. Work on that. Your good character and your admirable values will make you stand out in integrity, while others will bend like blades of grass in the wind.
You matter.
All you do - matters.
Make it good.
