Burnout, depression, stress, fear—for many the financial future seems hopeless.

No matter how hard you work, you are never adequately compensated.

You return home exhausted. Then repeat the same process tomorrow and the day after that and the day after that and the day after that.

You dream of retirement, finally being free of this life of servitude and finally having the time to do as you please.

You put in the time now in hopes of reaping the rewards you have always wanted later.

If you’re like me, you were told to go to school, study hard, get good grades, earn a degree, and pick a career to dedicate your life to.

Society proclaims that to achieve success we must work hard, dedicate our time to our job, and then retire.

We’re conditioned to be employees, trading time for money.

Being an employee isn’t necessarily bad; some employers treat their employees phenomenally.

Not all workplaces are like that, though.

More often than not, we earn meager wages through our commitment day in and day out.

We pull overtime, get extra jobs, work ourselves to the bone, but do we obtain financial freedom this way?

I certainly didn’t.

I worked three different jobs after graduating college. Despite pulling 12+ hour workdays, I still couldn’t break free of the shackles of student loan debt.

This system doesn’t work, but society doesn’t seem to recognize it.

Many of our loved ones, despite their best intentions, have horrible advice when it comes to wealth.

When the pandemic hit and eliminated both of my main jobs, I was left stranded.

My mom constantly sent teaching positions, but I wasn’t eager to jump back in and suffer the same fate once again. I already had been severely burned by many schools, discarded like a tool.

My dad tried to coax me into working at his job, a grocery store, based on the beliefs that “a job’s a job” and “income is a must.”

I knew I’d be absolutely miserable if I did, though. I couldn’t force myself to do it, especially with my sister’s constant complaints my aunt’s horror stories.

My aunt, coaxed into working for the grocery company as a teen by my dad, constantly complains about her work environment.

It’s killing her slowly, body, mind, and spirit.

With all the time she’s put in already, she feels like she can’t quit, nor does she want to look for another job to start all over with.

She feels trapped as her job destroys her from the inside out.

So many of us resign ourselves to this fate, convinced there’s no other way.

We struggle to make ends meet, tacking on overtime and extra jobs in hopes of finally catching a break.

Don’t hold your breath.

If working as an employee, trading time for money, truly worked, there wouldn’t be so many of us financially struggling now.

There are only so many hours in the day; no matter how hard you work, sooner or later you’ll max out on the work you can do.

With inflation and growing financial struggles, more and more people need a NEW solution.

The old way doesn’t work.

Growing up, we’re not taught about passive income.

Passive income is a crucial component to financial freedom.

Stop trading your time for money every day. It’s killing you.

Don’t willingly give your youth away to an employer based off the promise of “the good life” in retirement.

Retirement isn’t guaranteed.

You might not even make it to retirement; my uncle certainly didn’t.

He suddenly got brain cancer and passed away in 2020 at the age of 54.

Do you really want to wait to live your best life, postponing your dreams?

Is the chance really worth it?

Continue trading your time for money if you want, or you can use passive income to kickstart your new life of financial freedom and opportunity.

You don’t have to trade your time and youth for money.

Create passive income sources that will bring you income without slaving away at a 9-5 job. Plant those seeds to forever change your life.

With passive income you can literally earn money while you sleep.

Set it up and watch it grow.

It doesn’t matter which specific passive income opportunity you choose; the goal is to have money flow into your life easily.

Why work hard when you can work smart?

You might not know where to start, thinking starting something new will be too difficult.

It’s tempting to remain in your comfort zone because the unknown can be terrifying.

Take small steps. Take action to make your dreams a reality.

Start by using what you already have; if it’s already at your disposal, it’s silly not to make the most of it.

Photos and Videos

There’s something practically everyone already owns and uses everyday: cellphones.

Cellphones are great because they’re a one-stop device for so many needs and are now equipped with great cameras.

Many of us constantly take photos, so why not turn your stockpile into extra income?

Consider uploading photos onto stock websites. Photos can be sold repeatedly, generating passive income.

• Unsplash

• Pexels

Use your cellphone to create videos. You can sell video clips to stock websites or upload to a platform, like YouTube, and grow a following.

Once your media is up, you have the potential to make endless passive income.

Art

You can upload art online to sell as products on websites, like Redbubble, TeeSpring, and TeePublic.

I had artwork lying around for years that I decided to turn into seeds of passive income.

Allowing others to do all the heavy lifting is what makes this option passive.

You don’t have to create the specific product, store the merchandise, worry about collecting customer payment, or shipment.

You upload the artwork, and that’s it.

Uploading each piece is done once, but it then can be sold again and again and again. In a multitude of products. All over the world.

Not only was my first sale overnight while I was getting my beauty sleep, but it was also across the world to the Netherlands.

I didn’t have to ship it from my home in the U.S. Redbubble handled everything for me, and I got paid for it.

Make your life easier.

Music

You can get paid for royalty-free music tracks and sound effects.

Websites like Audio Jungle and Pond5, allow you to upload original audio for others to purchase.

If you already have instruments and expertise at your disposal, why not plant a seed to bring in additional income?

Writing

You can enter writing competitions, create a blog, write an e-book, write articles, short stories, or poetry—the possibilities are endless.

Are there written short stories, poetry, or guides hanging out on your computer? You could turn them into a book.

You can use your writing (like on a blog) to promote affiliate links if desired, too.

Realize if you never submit anything, you’ll never earn any passive income.

Digital Courses

Have skills you can share? Create an instructional course!

Teaching physical lessons isn’t horrible, but it limits the amount of income you can receive because there are only 24 hours in a day.

Why constantly repeat teaching the lesson in person? Instead, create and upload a digital course to teach an unlimited amount of people all at once.

Online instruction allows you to teach dozens, hundreds, thousands, or even millions of people.

With a digital course, students also have the luxury of taking the lesson whenever they want.

There’s no need to coordinate schedules, and the same digital course can be used at any point in time.

There’s no capping out; all it costs you is the initial creation investment.

These are just some passive income avenues you can use.

The main thing isn’t what passive income source you pursue. Start earning additional income without running yourself ragged.

Invest some time and effort into planting the seeds you will benefit from for the rest of your life.

Should you quit your day-job immediately? Not necessarily.

As these are seeds you’re planting, it’s going to take time before they completely replace the income from your career.

Earning extra income certainly won’t hurt, especially if you don’t have to invest the same time and energy you do for your day-job.

There’s no reason life should be full of lack, stress, and financial hardship.

It’s meant to be easy. It’s meant to be enjoyed.

I certainly didn’t come here to live a life of constant financial struggle. You didn’t, either.

Life is meant to embrace freedom and savor all the wonders of the world.

Take action to improve your life for the better.

Use passive income to create your best life.

Plant the seeds today that your future self will thank you for.
