Consistency is Key for Your YouTube Channel

Is posting every day a good idea for new YouTube channels?

I have decided to post every day for a week straight on my YouTube channel as an experiment, and I have to say that this was surprisingly successful.

Even though I didn't get mind blowing views on my channel, I was still so caught off guard by the views some of my videos did get.

Since my content consists of short videos on random horror topics that I love, I have to admit that it's kind of easy to produce a video every day for my channel.

Here are the results for all of my videos, and what each video was about:

Monday: 67 views that led to 2.1 watch hours.

This video was about a super underrated TV show and my personal thoughts on what I think of the series so far.

Tuesday: 320 views that led to 4.8 watch hours.

This video was about my personal thoughts on how I feel about fans who defend fictional serial killers in television shows. I did not expect this video to get that many views. It was stuck at one view for a whole day, and then skyrocketed during the week.

Wednesday: 172 views led to 1.8 watch hours.

This video was based on my excitement about the upcoming horror film: The Backrooms. I was expecting this video to get views, but I was still happy with the results!

Thursday: 27 views that led to 0.4 watch hours.

This video was based on my personal thoughts on a Silent Hill movie that really screwed up the material from the game the film was based on.

Friday: 25 views that led to 1.0 watch hours.

This video was one of my personal favorites to work on during the week. It was based on a character from Twin Peaks, that has the most insane character arc in any television show I have ever watched.

Saturday: 151 views that led to 1.8 watch hours.

This was another video that I thought was going to do kind of bad. I was surprised I even got this many views, because this video is based on a DC comic book I haven't even read about yet!

Sunday: 115 views that led to 1.4 watch hours.

This video was my personal thoughts on how I feel about the final season of The Boys. I had a feeling that this video was going to hit triple views, because everyone on YouTube is literally talking about their personal thoughts on the final season. I thought it would be cool to do a super random video for Sunday.

So, in total, I got about 13.3 watch hours.

And I achieve about 16 followers for YouTube, reaching 1,267 followers in total!

Overall, I think this was a major success for my channel.

While it's easy and fun to make these videos, it's not easy to get views.

I'm so surprised with the results, because I didn't even think I would reach double watch hour views. I now have 167 watch hours out of 4,000, so I'm even more determined to reach this goal!

And as a bonus, here are the thumbnails I had so much fun making for the videos:

Screenshot for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday videos.

Screenshot of Saturday and Sunday videos.

I also should mention I did use hashtags for each of the videos in the description box, to test the hashtags out. I did mention before that I felt that hashtags were worthless, but now I don't think that is the case. I think I overdid the hashtags for one of my old videos, and this time around, I only added 1–3 hashtags for each video, and I think they had a helping hand with getting the views for my channel!

I'm going to continue posting every day, and I will write another update for how my channel is doing for the second week!
