Tammy Reese:

What inspired you to follow and pursue your career path?

Aviva Reimer:

I’ve always been interested in personal self-betterment and growth, coming from a beauty background to physical transformation, growing up in Latvia/Europe to my eventual immigration to Canada. Challenge is merely an opportunity to expand beyond our current limitations. I’ve experienced nearly every kind of pain and struggle—personal, financial, emotional—and each brush with adversity has made me stronger. Once I had lived this ethos long enough, realizing that I had the potential to encourage this change in others seemed a natural progression.

Tammy Reese:

What feedback do you get from your clients who you have helped transform

their lives in various ways?

Aviva Reimer:

As a life coach, you tend to get some of the most glowing praise imaginable. “You’ve changed my life!” “You’ve made me a new man/ woman!” And while positive feedback of this nature is certainly rewarding, it’s also the smaller stories that move me the most. The clients who dig themselves out of years of unhealthy habits or routines. The clients who kick a food, drug or relationship addiction (yes, those toxic ones with their dopamine highs and lows can be quite addictive). I think the only negative feedback you’ll see as a life coach is simply when someone isn’t ready to be helped. Each person has to be ready for change and - but not necessarily prepared, as that’s my job, to prepare you. And that’s not a clock you can push or rush without risking your relationship with that client. Each person has their own internal timeline.

Tammy Reese:

What do you love most about the work that you do?

Aviva Reimer:

Seeing these incredible transformations! Women who’ve given up on themselves entirely that turn like beautiful butterflies into these gorgeous and powerful divas. Men who have been jaded from bad relationship after relationship, who’ve given their hearts only to have that trust thrown away, who learn how to open up once more to that special someone. People who believe they’re too old for “fairytale romance” suddenly finding themselves in the whirlwind romance of their lives. There are too many incredible anecdotes and experiences to share here, as we’d be looking back at over twenty years of transformations, but those are the general highs of what I’ve seen in this industry.

Tammy Reese:

How do you use what you help others to do in your own life?

Aviva Reimer:

Practice what you preach! Always. You can’t teach someone how to be strong, kind, or loving if you’re not those attributes yourself. Daily affirmations and rigid reflections are a necessity in my line of work. I’ve spent decades refining my social graces, empathy and physique. A lot of us are not sympathetic by nature and the world certainly does us no favors in conditioning us to be that way. Indeed, one of the hardest parts of self-improvement is unlearning all the insecurities, doubts and negative habits we’ve accumulated until adulthood. Kindness, especially, is a trait for which we must consciously train: opening doors for others, surrendering our seats on the bus for the elderly, smiling at strangers. All of these small miracles add up over time and contribute toward generating a healthy mindset and positive radiance. Paying it forward is always my go-to.

Tammy Reese:

How has the pandemic shaped your day-to-day life?

Aviva Reimer:

The pandemic has fundamentally changed the way we interact, although, like most challenges I’ve faced, I’ve taken it in stride. This forced separation can be an opportunity for self-reflection, for that silence we so often need that is hard to find in a technologically buzzing world. We so rarely have time to self-reflect, and now many of us have nothing but time to ponder. So I—and you—should use this universal quiet as a period for meditation, contemplation and growth.

Tammy Reese:

What was your experience like with Patti Stanger, the original Millionaire

Matchmaker?

Aviva Reimer:

Patty is a lovely lady. I love her no-nonsense attitude and her ability to be assertive and brutally honest without being cruel. My style is softer than hers, though we learn from those who are different than us and I no doubt sharpened my matchmaking skills and style from my exposure to her methods.

Tammy Reese:

What is next for you?

Aviva Reimer:

I rarely slow down and this year has been no exception—despite the current crisis. Now more than ever, I want to unite people at a time when they are feeling downtrodden and low. To that end, I have some incredible workshops, guided online courses and mixers planned. I’d suggest any interested singles check out my upcoming “5-Day Covid Dating Challenge”. We might just find your perfect match right in time for the holidays! Also, for those who are interested in self- guided learning, my critically acclaimed, bestselling book “Becoming the Total Package” will be available in audiobook format by the end of the year. My calendar is quickly filling for coaching sessions well into 2021, but I always try to make room for new clients. So, if you’re looking to change your life in every possible way, then let’s connect for a discovery call.

Tammy Reese:

What is some advice you would give for someone who wants to follow your career path?

Aviva Reimer:

Be bold, be brave, be honest with yourself and others. Have a passion for connecting people. Make sure you believe in true love, because it’s out there, and it’s your job to help others find it xoxo .
