A walk in the park
The story of enriching meditation

Crystal was a hard working woman with long black hair and deep brown eyes. She lived in a small two-bedroom apartment with her son who was not only not a child anymore but a young man with a full grown beard. There were days and nights that went by that she did not see him or anyone else for that matter, she worked from home and did not leave her place unless it was to go to the store for more provisions. She stayed away from most people these days since the pandemic hit and only saw her mother on Fridays when Mary Jean would pass through town on her way home from work. Days grew longer and longer and she realized she couldn't keep track of the days nor tell what the date was.
One day on her way to the store Crystal noticed a beautiful park and saw people enjoying the fresh air. She thought to herself, "I wonder what it must feel like to breath again." Crystal's desire to get out of her apartment grew stronger from there until one day she decided to go to the park and see what all those smiling faces she'd seen in the park were all about.
The day came and on that bright Sunday morning the sun was shining so bright and warm on her skin that all she could think about was why she didn't do it sooner. She would dress in her sexy spandex and sports shoes for this journey she was on. As she made her way around the half mile marker it dawned on her that she had lost track of how far she had walked because she was lost in deep thought. She would think about all the times she was invited to places by her friends and how she wasn't being social in turn turning them all down. Crystal would watch the different birds and ducks that were enjoying nature and the giant lake that filled the inside area of the park.
Every time she walked the park she would go deep in thought and most of the time just cry and hoped no one would notice. But what she would think about the most were of thoughts of an old flame who was in fact the love of her life. He was gone now leaving her wondering what she had done wrong that would require such a rejection. She would reminisce on those good times they had together and the not so good ones. She blamed herself for most of the bad times and knew one day he would be back again.
As weeks had gone by she continued to go every Sunday on her walks in the park and melt away into her thoughts, she would enjoy her self therapy she created for herself. Eventually, Crystal would leave that park and move on to other parks in search of new memories and new moments to enjoy and ponder over. Her favorite activity during these long walks were taking photos of the beautiful scenery.
One Sunday she decided to return to that lovely park she found on that warm day when she was on her way to the store, it was on that beautiful Sunday that she ran into her long lost love of her life who she thought about daily. He took one look at her and ran up and swooped her into his arms with a great big embrace. The bear hug she received was welcomed and felt familiar. Crystal's feet were off the ground and as he spun her around her hair spun around with such grace. They looked deep into each other's eyes followed by a very passionate kiss. There seemed to be a magical moment as if the world disappeared around them. It turned out that he had been walking in the parks as well, meditating and thinking about her every day. He realized how much she meant to him and that he wanted to walk every Sunday in the park along side her.
From that day on they would spend every day together and without fail every Sunday they would be seen walking beautiful parks and enjoying their time talking.
We all need time to get away from the four walls we can confine ourselves to and get some fresh air. Walking in the park was not only a great way to do that but also brought two lovers back to each other.
