Here are eight steps to kick-start your productivity:

1. Colors and Their Meanings

People who wear blue tend to be relaxed individuals. It is the perfect color if you are looking to take a breather from work and relax for a bit. If blue isn't your thing, try green. Green is another nice color that can help with stress and is perfect for taking small breaks.

2. Music and Its Effect on Stress And Productivity

Try listening to music when you are working. Different types of music can help with stress in different ways. Classical music is the best type of music because it has been proven that it helps reduce stress levels by 60 percent. The best part is that you don't need headphones to listen to it.

3. Noise and Its Effect on Productivity

Open spaces are great because there is a lot of movement in the atmosphere. This type of environment can help stimulate your energy levels, which means you'll be more productive than usual. Closed spaces, such as small rooms and corridors , tend to have less movement. And, unfortunately, that means lower energy levels and less productivity on your end.

4. Saving Tasks for Later

Make a separate to-do list . This way you won't feel overwhelmed at the thought of having to do everything on one list; it'll simply be too much work and stress if you try and focus on too many things at one time. So, create a separate to-do list for each specific task that's on your main list. This way you'll get the job done without feeling stressed out about it.

5. Small Tasks That Can Be Done Quickly

If there are small tasks on your to-do list that can be completed in less than ten minutes, it's best to do them. That way you can cross off your list and rid yourself of any stress related to unfinished work which will help you complete the rest of your tasks faster.

6. Urgency Versus Importance

If something is urgent, it has to be dealt with now . However, if something is important, it can be done later. For example, if there is an urgent phone call to make, then you'll need to take that phone call immediately. But, if there's important work to be done, it can wait until after your conversation.

7. Get Rid of the Unnecessary

It's best to get rid of all unnecessary distractions and items that can easily stress you out. These include, but are not limited to: pets, children and people who aren't willing to work. If you have a pet that's constantly making noise or a child that's being rowdy, then keep them away from the workspace until after work is done for the day.

8. Get Up and Stretch

It's important to keep moving while at work because it helps the body remain flexible and the mind focused . Get up from your desk every hour, or so, and stretch. This will help you focus more on what you're supposed to be working on instead of feeling lethargic due to lack of movement.
