When you lack confidence, you may think that everyone around you walks confidently and has no issues. But that is untrue. Everyone has self-doubts. So how do you define confidence? The answer is simple. Confidence is a belief in yourself and your abilities. It is not something you are born with. It is something you develop within yourself. This means that if you are lacking confidence, there are ways through which you can become more confident.

However, this doesn't mean that by being confident, you will never doubt anything in life. It is actually about learning to handle everything in life regardless of how bad a situation is. Here are 7 tips through which you can improve your self confidence:

Changing Body Language

Do you want to walk and talk with confidence? Then look around and think about people who you think are extremely confident. Notice their body language, the way they speak, walk and make eye contact when meeting and greeting others. You need to start behaving like them.

Body language is the first step towards building confidence and if you are able to master your body language, you will be successful sooner than later.

Don’t be Too Hard on Yourself

Everyone makes mistakes which is why there is no need to beat yourself up every time you make one. Focus on the outcome and learn from it. Everyone has struggled at some point in their life. One thing that I have learned is that people are usually thinking about themselves. The times I thought that others were judging me, they were really inside their own mind wondering if I was judging them. No one is really thinking about you all that much, so no need to be so hard on yourself.

Learn to Have a Growth Mindset

Most people think that confidence comes from achieving success. This may be true in a lot of cases, but it limits your abilities. Confidence is not something that comes from your outward achievements. It is your inner belief that regardless of what happens, you will be able to pick yourself up and move on instead of feeling broken. In short, you need to develop a growth mindset. This way you will slowly start developing confidence in your abilities.

Taking pride in your achievements

Confident people also make more money. They've learned how to take pride in their achievements. If you have made an effort to accomplish a goal, then you must not shy away from enjoying it. It isn't bragging about yourself but it is knowing your expertise and worth.

Visualize your Goals

Visualize your goals positively since it will help you to be confident in yourself. Think of succeeding at whatever goal you have visualized and avoid thinking about failure. What we focus on the longest grows the strongest in our lives. Our brain is wired in a way that by focusing on a goal, we are more likely to achieve it. This also boosts confidence.

Celebrate Everything Regardless of How Big or Small

Cherish and celebrate your small achievements even if it's just about getting something done on time. Celebrating these small moments helps to build confidence and makes you feel good about yourself. You can always make a habit, at the end of the day, of penning down three things you did right on a daily basis.

Focus on the Present

Many people who lack confidence have this habit of thinking too much about the past or the future. Remember that you can not change the past and control the future. You live in the present and that is what you must focus your thoughts on. When you start diverting your thoughts on the present, you start appreciating what you have and stop worrying about what you don't have. This also helps and builds confidence.
