"Life is short, and if we enjoy every moment of every day, then we will be happy no matter what happens or what changes along the way." - Gretchen Bleiler

When we were young, it felt like the days would last forever, and we had all the time in the world. As we have begun to age though, all of a sudden we have started wondering where the time has gone, and we are amazed at how quickly the days continue to pass us by. The most precious gift we have been given in life, after life itself, is time. Time is a double edged sword however. Time is a blessing, as it allows us to create memories, to laugh, to enjoy life, to relish in happiness, to generate success, and to cherish moments with our family and friends, but it can also be our greatest enemy, because if we don't use it effectively, efficiently, and beneficially, it leaves us with huge regret and sadness. Time is one of the most precious gifts we are given in life because it provides us with opportunity, a chance to spend the time we have being filled with love, happiness, positivity, joy, and gratitude. Time is a surprise gift though, yet it's only a temporary one, because we don't know exactly how much of it we actually have. We are basically handed a time bomb to which we know is guaranteed to blow up at some stage, but that element of surprise is not a good thing, as we have no idea when it will explode, and our life will come to a conclusion. We have that time bomb attached to us from the day we are born, and although at such an early age, we have no concept about time and it's preciousness, that time bomb is set to explode on a certain date, and it's a date that we never have any insight to throughout our entire life. Some people are blessed with numerous days, and live well into their elderly years, whilst others aren't so blessed, and sadly lose their life at an early age.

Without the knowledge and insight as to what day will be our last day, it should help us to become more aware of just how precious every single minute of our life really is. In not knowing how much time we have left to live, why is that so many people choose to live their days in unhappiness, misery, and dissatisfaction? Many people believe they have no control over their circumstances, and life is dishing them out an unfair deal, but the truth is, we are where we are today as a result of the choices we have made in the past, and the choices we continue to make today. If we are unhappy in our job, in our relationship, with our weight, with our overall health, with our financial situation, in not achieving our goals, or any other aspect of life, it's not because we are receiving a rough deal in life, it's because we are choosing to remain in those circumstances of unhappiness. Our previous decisions have led us to this point, and if we are not happy where we are in life, then we need to make further decisions to get out of these circumstances we find ourselves in. We are not being proactive in making changes, taking risks, making some difficult decisions, and forcing ourselves into overcoming our challenges and adversities, but instead, too many of us are just sitting back and hoping that someday soon, life will start to change for the better for us. Life doesn't work like that however. The only way life will change for the better, is if we make the change for life to become better. What it all comes back to is attitude. We have this foolish belief that we have plenty of time to live, but who really knows that for certain? We need to take the attitude of living each day like it's our last, and making every moment count.

If you knew that tomorrow would be your last day alive, what would you do differently today than what you would normally do? Spend more quality time with your partner, parents, friends, children, and other loved ones? Go out on a spending spree? Go do something daring and exciting? Tell someone you love them? More than likely you would prioritize two things, one being that you would spend time with those you love, and two, you would actually go out and do something you'd enjoy. What you would really focus on also, is spending your last few hours alive in complete happiness. You wouldn't want to waste any precious minutes feeling sad, miserable, unhappy, angry, frustrated, or any other negative emotion. You would make every moment count! The question is, why aren't we taking the same attitude right now? We don't know if tomorrow will be our last day alive. It's not to say we should go out today and blow all our money, quit our job, and tell our family we are going to die tomorrow, before giving them one last hug and kiss. What it is about is having the attitude of making every moment count by finding happiness, enjoyment, satisfaction, and fulfillment in life. Why are we wasting so many precious moments away feeling angry, unhappy, bitter, frustrated, sad, and unsatisfied? Why are we wasting so much precious time doing the things we don't enjoy, and what doesn't make us happy, such as working a job we hate, or remaining in an unhealthy relationship? Take the attitude that today will be your last day, and be happy in all that you do. Remind people about how much you love them, find work that you are passionate about, spend time doing the things you enjoy, and show others kindness, generosity, compassion, support, and encouragement. Below are 20 inspirational quotes on how we should all be living life to the fullest, finding complete happiness and satisfaction in life, and making every moment of our life count.
