The Fastest Shoes

The legendary Elliot Kipchoge, a name that echoes through the annals of marathon history, he is hailed by many as the greatest of all time. In the year of our Lord 2018, he shattered the world record for a marathon, leaving his competitors in the dust. But that was not enough for this titan of the track. The following year, he pushed himself to the limit and broke the two-hour barrier, a feat once thought impossible. Elliot Kipchoge became the first sub-two marathoner in history! Though it was not an official race, the world was left in awe of his incredible speed. Runners across the globe are breaking records that have stood for ages. It is the more sophisticated training, or the better nutrition. But there is one thing that most of these record-breakers have in common: their shoes. These shoes are not made for walking, they are made for running, and they have evolved with each spike in running popularity. So let us all take a moment to marvel at the greatness of Elliot Kipchoge and the incredible advancements in running technology that have made such feats possible.

In the year 1974, the world was blessed with the waffle trainer. A shoe that would change the game forever. But it was not until 1976 that the air cushion was introduced, and then, in the mid-70s, the most impactful discovery of all time was made: the eva foam. This foam was a game-changer, and it would revolutionize the world of running shoes forever and we have what we now know as the standard running shoe. It consists of three key components: the upper, the midsole, and the outsole. The upper is designed to hold your foot firmly to the sole of the shoe, while the midsole is where the magic happens. This is where the energy return takes place, and it acts like a mini trampoline for your feet. Most shoes use foam, which can return up to 65% of energy.

But then, in 2016, something new appeared on the horizon. The Nike Vapor Fly Next Percent. This shoe was a game-changer, a new beast that had never been seen before. When they first put them on, they felt like he was cheating. They were so fast, unlike anything he had ever experienced before.

The Vapor Flyer Alpha Fly Carbon shoe was a rare gem, reserved exclusively for Nike-sponsored athletes. Only three of them had the privilege of donning it during the Olympic marathon that year, and the rest of the runners were left in the dark about its existence. The moment the shoe made its debut, controversy erupted. The rules clearly stated that no footwear could provide an unfair mechanical advantage, leaving the running world divided on whether the Vapor Fly fell under that category. It was a moment of uncertainty and tension, as the fate of this revolutionary shoe hung in the balance.

In 60 years of his running, He have tried over 600 pairs of shoes, and for the first 56 years, He didn't think they made any difference. But now, with the Vapor Flys, he knows that he was wrong.

In 60 years of his running, He have tried over 600 pairs of shoes, and for the first 56 years, He didn't think they made any difference. But now, with the Vapor Flys, he knows that he was wrong.

I am now a firm believer that there exists a running shoe that can make you run faster. We have witnessed countless runners achieve lightning-fast speeds in these new shoes. It's safe to say that anyone who runs in these shoes, as opposed to a regular pair, will cover the same distance in less time if they give it their all.

It's important to keep our expectations in check when it comes to what these shoes can do. Owning a pair won't magically shave a minute off your mile time. However, there's no denying that they are faster than your average pair of running shoes. The only question that remains is just how much faster these shoes can make us.
