Could this be love?

When love surprises you

By Abdul-rasaq OthmanPublished about a year ago 3 min read

Lena was used to being alone. She had grown up in a small town where everyone knew everyone else's business, and it was hard for her to fit in. She was always a little too quirky, a little too different from the other girls. So when she moved to the big city to go to college, she was excited to start fresh, to be whoever she wanted to be. But even in a city of millions, she still felt alone.

That all changed one day when she met Max. Max was a friend of a friend, and they were introduced at a party. Lena was immediately drawn to him. He was tall and broad-shouldered, with curly brown hair that fell in his eyes. He had a kind smile and a gentle demeanor that put her at ease. They talked for hours that night, about everything from their favorite books to their dreams for the future.

After that night, Lena couldn't stop thinking about Max. She tried to tell herself that it was just a crush, that it would pass, but the more she saw him, the more she realized that she was falling in love with him.

It wasn't just his looks that drew her to him. It was the way he listened to her when she talked, the way he made her feel like she was the most important person in the world. It was the way he was always there for her, even when she didn't know she needed him.

One night, they were walking home from a party together, and Lena found herself blurting out, "I think I'm in love with you."

Max stopped in his tracks, and Lena could see the surprise on his face. "Really?" he said.

Lena nodded, feeling suddenly shy. "I know it's probably stupid," she said. "We've only known each other for a few weeks, but I just can't help how I feel."

Max took her hand and pulled her close. "It's not stupid," he said. "I think I might be falling in love with you too."

They kissed then, a soft, tentative kiss that quickly turned into something more. They made love that night, and Lena knew without a doubt that this was what she had been searching for all her life.

As the weeks turned into months, Lena and Max's love grew stronger. They spent all their time together, exploring the city and trying new things. Lena felt like she had finally found her place in the world, and she knew that it was because of Max.

One day, they were walking through a park, hand in hand, when Max stopped suddenly and turned to her. "Lena," he said. "I have something I want to ask you."

Lena felt her heart skip a beat. "What is it?" she said.

Max got down on one knee, and Lena felt tears welling up in her eyes. "Lena," he said. "I love you more than anything in the world. Will you marry me?"

Lena could hardly believe it. This man, this wonderful, kind man who had captured her heart so completely, wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. She said yes without hesitation, and they hugged each other tightly, both of them crying tears of joy.

Their wedding was a small affair, just family and a few close friends. Lena wore a simple white dress, and Max wore a suit that made him look like a movie star. They exchanged vows under a tree in the park where Max had proposed, and Lena felt like she was living in a dream.

After the wedding, they moved into a tiny apartment together, and Lena felt like her life was complete. She had everything she had ever wanted, a loving husband, a beautiful home, and a future
